Considering that it's from "World Entertainment News Network", who does news for IMDB, this sounds like just gossip.
It really does sound like a bad idea, though. It's been done before a million times, and really, I don't think it would do as well as it would with the original, which relies on the dynamic of the four lead actresses.
Then again, who knows. Maybe in 2005, we'll all be discussing how successful the "Joey" spin-off is.

She always advocates safe sex and has regular HIV tests, which is sending out a good message rather than a bad one for the amount of people she's slept with, in my opinion.
Your attitude is also quite disturbing, even if it is only a TV character. I'm sure there are many people like her in the world somewhere but would you wish them the same fate?

Yes, it'll still be Samantha (complete with the "Darling"s and snappy repartee), but I'm guessing they'll make the sex incidental (almost a treat, if you will) and focus on her socializing and networking in LaLa Land.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see the last few eps of S&tC have her see the folly of her ways, and then have some sort of revelation where she chooses to tone down the sex. Have her reputation precede her in LA, only to have her shoot down all would-be suiters, could be one way to go.....

Didn't they alerady do that show with a prude as a lead PR (Caroline in hte city)? I would not likely watch even thought 99% of HBO's stuff is great.

I kind of agree with Calhoun. I like SatC, but Catrall's char is my least favorite. I think it's that the character advocates such a disgusting lifestyle that it really turns me off. I know what you're thinking... no, i'm not a prude. Wish there would be at least some hint of monogamy in the show.

Agreed. Catrall is my least favorite character, probably because she is so one dimensional. She is the least developed character, and that is fine with me. I would avoid any such spinoff...

Actaually this is starting to make sense. The last few episodes Sam has been doing a lot more PR stuff for Smith. It even looks as though she'll be doing even more for him in the next episode. I think they are trying to do more character development for her in preperation for the spin off....
