Jaywalking - Set up?
I've always found Jay Leno's Jaywalking a bit...suspect.
Now after seeing it many times, I've come to conclude: it's set up. Just look at it, it really looks fake. Some of their replies ar just too idiotic and - Yes, I know that there are many idiots, constantly surrounded by them - just try and thnik about it. Or maybe I missed the fact that it's set-up and that it's part of the point? Confused! |
If you ask 100 people a question, there will be a few who really don't know it, and there will be a few who do know it but give a stupid answer because they know they will never get onto TV with the real answer.

I agree with Heat, they only show the small percentage who don't know the answer. Tons of useless footage of smart people.
|
I'm goin with Heat as well. He hit the nail on the head.
|
I don't think it's set up, but I do think that people deliberately give stupid answers knowing that they'll be put on the show.

Helped tape a few segments of Jaywalking. the basic run down.. Ask as many people as possible the question. NOTE These folks are picked out of the groups or come on their own. they know they wont be on tv if they give a good answer and so either they act the fool or of course, in editing, we selected the funniest, dumbest answers. it takes a bit of time, but after an hour you wouldn't imagen how much you have to work with.
|
Hm, all right. Thanks for the info.
|
Of course, a rip-off of Howard Stern's 'homeless game'. Except on Howard's show, they bet on what answer the person will give...

Jay Leno is the phoniest comedian there is. What a sellout, want some Doritos?

What do you guys think about Jay Leno's "Point, whats your point" where two idiots--one a girl, one a guy--face off in a debate/conversational manner. Jay gives them topics or asks questions, and it just proves how dumb they are.
Do you guys think that's real? |
The Tonight Show has gone down the hill so much since Leno took over. I don't have anything against him personally, but many of the skits are mean spirited now, and just not funny, IMO. It is easy and lazy comedy to pick on the stupid, and the show seems to be relying on it more and more.

Originally posted by Roto Half the population of LA are actors. The ones most likely to try to get on TV with the dumbest answers would also be actors. Jay wouldn't have to look for them and arrange it. |
