Lucky Season Finalle Tonight 7/1
I know a lot of fans of the show keep forgetting its on
Thought I'd post a reminder. I really hope the show is picked up agian. What kind of market share does FX expect from a half hour show on thier network at 10PM on a tuesday that they'd go and kill it? I mean I hope reruns of Sanford and Son are not beating Lucky in the raitings....

Well, the Real World also airs against Lucky (and are showing new episodes).
Finally saw last week's episode, and it was a stitch!
Tonight's big money night! Gotta love Texas Hold-em (no limit) poker tournaments!

I like how each one of the main characters do their darnedest to fight their self destructive nature, but in the end, some find that the fight is a little easier knowing that others care about them. None of the main 5 characters are anywhere near perfect, but they are fun to watch as their foibles always seem to trip them up, but their friends are there to help them up once again.

Pretty good finale for a show not rooted in reality in some respects, but there are consequences for actions.
Disposing of a body on TV has never been so brutally funny and disturbing at the same time.

Oh, crap! Does anyone know when they are airing the show again? I usually catch the show when they run it again on friday, but it looks like they are running a MASH marathon this friday for the 4th of July....

I thought he was going to step away from the table again to chase after her. Thank goodness he didn't.
I liked this show. I won't say that I loved it because I'm not big on dramedies. My favorite episodes of this series were definitely the more comedic ones (particularly the one where Lucky becomes a meat salesman). His friends are the best part of the show by far.

Re: Lucky Season Finalle Tonight 7/1
I suppose it’s the intent of the program to be confused in what must be a chaotic setting. The love/hate thing between Lucky and whatshername just doesn’t come off for me. Maybe it’s the acting. And it’s getting old.
The setup at the end was bogus. What did she think he was gonna do at the final hand, just get up and walk over to her, give her a hug, and ride off into the sunset without playing it?
I think she’s suffering from jealousy. Typical female thing: “If you REALLY love me you’ll…” What man doesn't cringe at the thought of that conversation, his ball sack shrinking in a futile attempt to hide from the eventual onslaught?
And, from a nitpicking standpoint: I try very hard to overlook the total violations in etiquette and procedure during the big poker games.
There’s enough to interest me. But it’s not on my list. It's never "Oh, Lucky's on tonight." For instance, Buffy [was] Tuesday night. Lucky is, uh, umm... Let’s just say a rerun of Voyager almost made the cut before I ran across it in the listing.

Well, there’s “splashing the pot,” and then there’s throwing your chips into the pot.
My biggest beef is that they constantly play out of the chip trays. To me, nothing spells “fish” more than that.

I think the finale is re-airing tonight. I've been away since wednesday and the damn_vcr didn't tape again. Only one episode is on tonight in the 10:30 time slot, the digital cable didn't have a description so I'm asuming they will be showing hte finale again.
This show seems cursed. Too many people that like it can't see it or forget.

I'm not surprised it was axed. From what I read, the ratings, even for FX, were lousy.
From thefutoncritic.com:
From thefutoncritic.com:
The John Corbett-led dark comedy opened to a modest 2.5 million viewers back in April only to see its audience drop in half by its fourth episode. Even worse the series averaged a 0.77 rating in adults 18-49 for its entire 13 week run, with an almost invisible 0.55 average rating for its final month on the air.
That's a stark contrast from "The Shield," which averaged over 3 million viewers in its second season not to mention a 1.9 rating in adults 18-49 for its finale. FX executives nevertheless remain proud of the series. "I just think it's the most competitive time in the history of TV. Sometimes shows don't find audiences," FX topper Peter Liguori told Daily Variety. "Ultimately, we're in the business of delivering eyeballs and creating a profile. We're all proud of the show, but it never found the audience it deserved."
He added, "At the end of the day, we're really proud of it," Liguori said. "We thought maybe we'd use the resources we have and give something else a try." So far Liguori has been right: the first two weeks of newcomer "Nip/Tuck" have topped every episode of "Lucky" to date.

Anyone who is interested, you can email FX at [email protected]. Lodge your complaint (and keep it civil, unlike my previous post )
