Looking for the name of this TV show

So I'm at work talking with a friend about old TV shows we used to watch. One of our other co-workers mentioned a TV show about a family of superheros that lived in a volcano. She couldn't remember the name of the show (thus the title of this post). This was a live action show, and she said that the dad was made of gold, the mom was silver, and the child was bronze. They also had a human friend who, when he got in trouble, would (I think) blow a whistle. Does this spark anyone's memory? Neither my friend nor I have any idea what she is talking about, so I told her I'd post.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know anything about the show, it sounds familiar. But I just had to say I love that signature. I laugh everytime I see that episode!

I remember this show from the late 70's. I remember the kid would blow the whistle, the robot family would arrive in rocket form. Sometimes the mother or son giant would give the kid a ride in a little cockpit to escape danger.

I agree.

I pretty much have to see at least a few episodes of any series where these people are regulars.
