All I know is that I want the first 2 seasons of R&S on DVD. Those episodes were hilarious.

oh.. and here's a description (from tvguide.com):

Akin to Saturday Night Live's “TV Funhouse,” the shows are alternately scatological, cynical and sexy---and often very funny. In the riotous opener of the all-new Ren & Stimpy Adult Cartoon Party, the hapless Chihuahua and cat leave a homeless man's mouth to live in a barroom spittoon. Next, a snide lawyer-turned-rodent (voiced by Kelsey Grammer) defends the tobacco industry in the tart premiere of Gary the Rat. And Pamela Anderson voices Stan Lee's campy Stripperella, who goes undercover in her debut to bust a fiendish plastic surgeon.

I don't mind gay characters, and I don't mind gay cartoon characters. But I draw the line at openly gay interspecies cartoon characters.

Yeah, they crossed the line! Those bastards!

On another note, here's hoping this turns out well. I was a big fan of this show back in the day. And seriously, I doubt that the gay thing is going to be the focus every episode. Like said before, one episode rarely has anythign to do with the next. Also, if them being gay was a point in every episode, then quite frankly the humor would get old. And I bet John K has a lot more ideas than humor based on the fact they are gay. The variety of ideas, from strange children toys to going in the army to dental hygiene was what made every episode quite the joy back in the day. I don't doubt that variety in ideas will continue on. Though, probably a lot more racier this time around.

"Log" and "Powdered Toast Man" were the greatest.

Am i the only one who thought it strange that PTM's dandruff turned into the powdered toast?

*Prays for first two seasons on DVD*

What i loved most about the old show wasnt so much the bizarre situations, but rather the use of the various sound effects....those were sometimes the funniest things ever.

I'll have to wait and see how this turns out, but it sure seems like in an effort to top the outrageous stuff he did before that John K. has gone a bit too far - or way too far depending on your perspective. I would have to imagine that this is just for one episode, because if not the new series could get lame real fast.

And I am just dying to get the first two seasons on DVD. I've got a laserdisc with a few episodes, but man, I'd love to see the first episode again - and Fire Dogs, and....hell, all of the episodes from the first two seasons.

According to my Tivo Guide there is no Ren & Stimpy Classics on at 11:30 on the premiere night. Anyone know what's up with that?

That's the beauty of his posts.

I like to refer to it as being "A.V.O.G."

West sided with Nickelodeon in the big split. John K. and Billy West won't work together again.

I just hope the rest of the humour will work better in context... of course, I'll reserve final judgement until this has aired...but.... Ren and Stimpy? Gay? Why should it matter? Didn't they have anything better to tackle in this show? Argh.

Remember how R&S was a gross out for kids back in the Nickelodeon days? Now John K. is going to make it a gross out for adults. If you've been keeping up with Spumco's work then you know that this stuff is par for the course. I, for one, can't wait!

I'm not sure how impressed I've been with Spumco's post R&S work. Web Cartoons such as Weekend Pus sy Hunt, the Goddamn George Liquor Show, The Ripping Friends, and the Boo Boo shorts have left me scratching my head. I hope these will be good. Those short scenes are funny.

I use it sometimes myself but nobody ever seems to get where it comes from.

I caught an episode of "The Ripping Friends" and it made me want to see R&S again.

The next thing you know, someone will say Ernie and Burt or the Teletubbies are gay.

Some of my favorite Ren and Stimpy bits were things like the Log commercials and other things that were like parodies of old Satruday morning cartoons. I'm hoping they don't get too carried away with the adult gross-out jokes.

Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon at 10pm ET/PT, Gary the Rat at 10:30pm ET/PT. Then at 11pm ET/PT, Stripperella and Ren & Stimpy Classics at 11:30pm ET/PT.

I shall leave the math to you. BTW, the new Ren and Stimpy's are half hour formats rather than 6 minute shorts.

This could work against the new show as well I feel the 6 min segments are a better format for the show
