I loved both FTETTM and BOB but had to go with BOB because it resonated more with me, and the events depicted had such an impact on today's society. FTETTM was an extremely well-done miniseries, but 1 or 2 episodes left me wanting more whereas BOB every episode was an absolute knockout.

I'd have to vote for And the Band Played On (1993), the true story of the discovery of HIV. I stop and watch this whenever I catch it being replayed.

I voted other. The only one on the list that I saw AND liked was RKO 281.

Others I like that you didn't mention: Gotti, The Late Shift, The Pentagon Wars, Barbarians at the Gate.

I voted for Band of Brothers, but if that were not on the list, I would have voted for Wit.

Way, way, way too many to choose from! HBO has done some kick a$$ movies in the past (in no particular order):

And The Band Played On
If These Walls Could Talk 2 (that first segment is just painful to watch)
Soul of the Game
By Dawn's Early Light (oldie but goodie that should be on DVD)
61*
Miss Ever's Boys
Boycott

There's one older movie they did that had Forrest Whitikar trying to thwart an overthrow of the govt. Sam Waterson played the president. I can't remember the name but it was good as well.

I think I'll stop now .

It's a toss-up between the two, so I'm going to go with From the Earth to the Moon, since it seems to have been overshadowed by the more popular Band of Brothers. In truth, though, most every original production from HBO is outstanding.

Thanks for the info.

Even though I promised not to name any more movies I can't believe I forgot to mention The Tuskegee Airmen.

Lot of good choices. I'll go with 61*. Gia almost won by an Angelina Jolie nipple.

I voted BOB, but my second and third choices would be Citizen X and The Infiltrator.

I was going to mention Citizen X....fantastic movie. Was flipping through the channels one night at 2:00am and it just started...it grabbed me in the first 10 minutes for the whole thing.

I would go with FROM THE EARTH TO THE MOON, but it is a VERY tough decision...

HBO has produced so much great material. No one has mentioned the film ALWAYS OUTNUMBERED. After seeing the film about a dozen times over the years on HBO, I just picked it up on DVD. Just an incredible film with one of Laurence Fishburne's best performances ever.

When I first saw the thread, immediately 'Citizen X' popped into my mind. But then sanity took over, and BOB has to be the hands down winner for this.
