Because that would be too easy. Changing money (like eating or going to the bathroom) is one of the unshown challenges of TAR.

yeah i totally didnt understand the transportation stuff - i thought they had to WALK...but everyone took cabs and the subway. no penalties?

also in the other episode, how come the team wasnt penalized for sliding down the snow hill without the boat thing?

I'm pretty sure it never said anything about them having to walk... the idea was one task had you having to haul that big thing, to an easier to find place... the other was farther away, harder to find, but less to carry.

Looking at how the teams acted, it didn't look like they KNEW any of this beforehand.

I don't remember any of the teams using a cab, and, since the task was to CARRY the items, I guess public transportation (subways, busses) was allowed. Remember, too, that the instructions give the teams more info than is told to us, so it may have stated what was or wasn't an option. Otherwise, all Jon & Kelly would've had to do was hail a cab and tell it to take them to the Beethovenhaus.

Because they went back up and did it the right way the second time. They only slid down on their butts initially so they could get to the snow raft truck at the bottom of the hill.

mark; i dont have asthma but its hard to breathe obviously and you want her to be as free and loose as possible. the shirt might have been tight and hindering her.

I'd imagine you'd get all flustered and stressed as a side effect of not being able to breathe, so you'd feel overheated.

Being someone who has managed stores that are in a country not in the US, we find many people feel the same way... they don't want to go to banks to exhange cash for the local currency, for whatever reason... So we will accept US dollars, at our own exchange rate, and make a fair profit. Many places are like this all over the world where people may travel.
