"Coach" is back in primetime?!?!?!?!
My local NBC affiliate pre-empted last night's Will and Grace re-run with an episode of Coach!!!! I'm sure it's so they can sell local ads, but...WTF???
Anybody else have this happen in your local market? |
Do you live in the boondocks or something? Why Coach? Why not something better?

For the last season of Buffy, the local UPN affiliate (a Fox station) would delay the show 4 hours so they could cram in reruns of every Fox show ever (excluding 24).

I work for an ABC affiliate and during our syndicated time on weekends, we show reruns of Coach and Taxi. One of the big advantages is there is no built in spots i dont think, so all add time is ours. I'm not sure, but I think so. I don't pay much attention because I've seen all the Coach episodes.

I can understand using a show like "Coach" during syndicated hours, since stations get 100% of ad revenue. This same station has the full catalog of "Golden Girls" and "Family Ties". They waste no time in airing one of these shows as filler. Understandable.
But, during prime-time? I find that absurd. And greedy. What about the person who missed the first run of the episode? They are ***** out of luck catching the re-run. Comes down to, again, greed. Another station in this market pre-empts "Jimmy Kimmel Live" to air infomercials. Greed. In this case, some may argue it is good taste. |
Dang it!!! Now I'm going to be humming the "Coach" theme all night.
