Good news. I support anything that gets more people watching "Boomtown".

Agreed the more people who are exposed to this show the better.

I like how the networks appear to be reairing shows much quicker than they ever had before, It makes sense as It can help to build an audience

Did I miss something - didn't Bravo buy the rights to Boomtown and air a marathon not that long ago? What on earth happened (I complain because I don't have TNT but I do have Bravo).

Actually NBC owns Bravo and were just using it to reair eps to try and raise viewership. Using TNT will probably bring them more money in, since they'll have to pay for it.

I know nothing of the show. Without spoilers, convice me to watch it. Specifically, anyone in it I would recognize? What type of drama is it? Comparable to anything else?

“Boomtown” features Donnie Wahlberg (“Band of Brothers”) as Joel Stevens, a dedicated detective; Mykelti Williamson (“Forrest Gump”) as “Fearless” Bobby Smith, Stevens’ easy-going, daredevil partner; Neal McDonough (“Minority Report”) as David McNorris, a politically savvy and ambitious Deputy D.A.; Gary Basaraba (“Brooklyn South”) as Ray Hechler, a veteran patrol officer, and Jason Gedrick (“The Last Don”), as Tom Turcotte, a beat cop struggling to prove himself.

Nina Garbiras (“The $treet”) stars as Andrea Little, a tough metro reporter whose private life is less than perfect and Lana Parrilla (“Spin City”) as Teresa Ortiz, a compassionate paramedic who has already seen too much suffering.

“Boomtown” is from NBC Studios and DreamWorks Television. Graham Yost and Jon Avnet are executive producers; Yost is the writer and Avnet is the director.

Dammit!! That was too easy! Why didn't I think of that?

Bust Donnie is great in it, the cast as a whole is fantastic, Graham Yost managed to assemble a lot of the cast of band of Brothers for this show.

It truly is one of the best on television, and for sure the best new show in my opinion of the last season

Every person is brilliant, McNorris character is well played by neal mcdonough who was my favourite in BoB.

I would guess an eventual DVD release is forthcoming. This and My Homicide set is on the way.... Bliss

I enjoyed it at first, but it slipped downhill quickly and they all but abandoned the "multiple POV" theme. I won't be watching again next season.

Best show on TV.

Glad they're reairing it, I missed a couple episodes in the middle of the season.

<B>Groucho</B>, the way they abandoned their premise annoys me too; however, as a straight drama, I think it still works. The final episodes of the season were very strong IMO. I plan to keep watching.

Watched it last night - great pilot episode!

Looks like Monday's @ 9:00, I'm booked for the summer. ;)

Yeah, that pilot episode of Boomtown is pretty solid. I've seen it three times now, and it's very, very good.

Whatever you do, DON'T get discouraged midseason when they start abandoning the different POV format. The series picks up again significantly the last 3-4 episodes.

I heard about half way through the show they dropped the original format since people thought it was too confusing???

I don't know why they did, but it was a gradual process. It's hard to point to one episode and say "This is the one where it stopped."

My biggest problem with the show isn't really that they dropped the format (although that pissed me off). It's that the show has no balls. Episode after episode they had a situation where a lead character might have crossed the line and done something horrible. Turns out at the end...they didn't! Whew! It would have been far more interesting to see some of those characters cross that line and then deal with the repercussions.

I guess I'm just spoiled by shows like "The Shield."

I am so glad TNT is airing the first season of this show - I am a first-time viewer.

Anyway, last night's episode was absolutely fantastic! One of the best hours of drama I've seen in quite some time (for a network show, that is).

I hope I'm not the only one watching these for the first time every week. This has become one of my favorite shows - I don't know what I was thinking when I chose not to watch it last season (oh, yeah - it was on Sunday's ;)). Every hour is entertaining and dramatic with a wonderful blend of characters and stories.

Anyway, fantastic show that has also become my favorite theme music for opening credits.

NBC starts showing the first season again this Friday at 10ET which is it's new timeslot. I don't think they're repeating what's been played on TNT either.

I missed out on this show on NBC, and then Bravo showed it, and I missed it there too. I replay'ed it on TNT and finally watched them a week or so ago. I came close to saying forget it and deleting it off the replay, but i decided to force myself to watch it, and I'm so glad that I did! Great show!
