"Court" TV Show People....
I've been wondering this for awhile. Do the people that go on Court TV shows (People's Court, Judge Judy, Divorce Court, etc) get paid for being on there, or do they just get their dispute settled?

I think they mention at the end of the show (during the credits) that all participants (litigants) get some kind of compensation for doing the show. This is on the People's Court, anyway.

I think this is how it works, from something I read a while ago.
Both parties are paid a certain sum. After the judgement, if one side owes the other money it is deducted from their check and added to the winner's check.
Divorce Court is all actors, so it doesn't matter.
