Csi (05/08)

Pretty good episode. I think they made it blatantly obvious who the person is going to be that leaves the show.

Spoiler:
By the way Sarah acts in this episode, it's blatantly obvious that she's the one that's going to be the one of "their own" who is lost on next weeks episode. I think they really foreshadowed it in her exchange with Grissom right at the end. I think I've figured out why she's leaving the show. She's pregnant. A couple of scenes, her belly was really sticking out. She's gotta be pregnant.

Spoiler:
Sara leaving would suck, but I suspect you're right. She definitely looks pregnant. I hope it's just a temperary thing for a season because she definitely adds a lot to the show. Character wise, I think she's got a lot of potential for significant character development. I wonder who they will bring in to replace her? Probably another female to keep the ratio good.

MrX 05-09-03 02:52 AM

I noticed that too. I've never really cared for the character anyway so it's not a loss to me.

I thought it was a pretty good episode also.

Speaking of characers leaving, their was a interview with William Peterson on the news tonight and he said he only sees himself on the show for another year or two.

Da Thrilla 05-09-03 03:42 AM

You guys are right about Sara, she seemed kind of off the whole episode. But why would she ask Grissom to dinner? That's what really threw me off. And if she was pregnant, why would she take all the risks she did, like drawing the gun on the criminal?

But I'm not so sure that Sara is one of "their own." I slow-moed next weeks preview, it involves a bank robbery and such, and Nick was in the bank and had two red lights on him, probably from one of the bank robbers. He could possibly get shot.

garmonbozia 05-09-03 04:10 AM

I watch CSI off/on but have just recently started watching it more regularly...

anyway, what Season of the show is this?

shanester 05-09-03 04:37 AM

I fell asleep last nite did Greg get out of the hospital??

dek 05-09-03 06:54 AM

No, at the end of the show Catherine is at his bedside when he wakes up
Spoiler:
because she wanted Greg to hear it from her mouth it was her fault the lab blew up

Patman 05-09-03 08:08 AM

I thought my eyes were playing tricks on my when I saw Sarah's tummy, which was really big, and now that I know she's preggers, it makes sense.

I think Sarah is going through that whole "was close to death, might as well take chances in life" reaction that some people who near death accidents happen to them.

Red Dog 05-09-03 08:13 AM

Noticed the same about Jorja Fox. Frankly, I don't care much for her character on the show - my least favorite.

Sometimes this show annoys me when the CSIs do something that a detective would normally do - like the whole prison investigation - visitor lists, looking at prison camera footage, etc.

Season 3...

... and I think that Nick is the one goes away, and then Greg will take his place.

It wouldn't suprise me if he left. He's an executive producer, so the money rolls in whether he's on the show or not.

She and Grissom flirted with having a thing once before. If i remember correctly, she was pissed off about not being appreciated by him, she almost quit so he sent her flowers.

As for the preggers thing, I don't think that's a part of the show. It's the reason why she's on the show, but it's not being written into the show.

I think it's just the actress who is pregnant, I don't think the character is supposed to be.

I also noticed her tummy throughout the episode and it didn't even occur to me that Jorja Fox could be pregnant, but that makes sense.

I was like "She was always so skinny, those clingy shirts are not flattering to her tummy."

I read that Peterson is very annoyed that CSI: Miami was created. So much so, in fact, that he refused to be part of a recent magazine article and photo shoot on the CSI craze when he found out that it would be focusing on both shows. Now there are rumors of a third CSI floating around. The reason he signed on to CSI was because of its originality, and he feels that Miami (and, I would imagine, further development) takes that away from the show. For one, I agree with him, especially considering how they really dropped the ball on Miami (IMHO). However, I don't know his contract details. I'm sure he's signed on for at least one more year.

Patman 05-09-03 09:46 AM

Obviously Peterson doesn't subcribe to the "Law & Order" paradigm of TV programming. :D

I'm sure that he'll love the addition of CSI: JAG (or is it JAG: CSI ;) ) to the CBS lineup next season. ;)

True, and that new sit-com , "Everybody Loves Warrick" will probably not sit too well, either.

Goldberg74 05-09-03 11:13 AM

I'm still waiting for the announcement of CSI: Vacaville...

Jeremy517 05-09-03 11:30 AM

Possible spoiler regarding who is leaving:

Spoiler:
From what I heard, it isn't one of the main five characters that leaves the show. It is one of the lesser characters, but not Brass or Greg. My fiancè saw a spoiler and she said it wasn't a name that she recognized. The spoiler could be wrong though.

It looked to me like Sara was wearing a girdle. Of course, she could be wearing a girdle to hide the fact that she's pregnant. I haven't seen any confirmation anywhere that says she's pregnant.

Jadzia 05-09-03 12:09 PM

Not to mention they are also setting up Angel to be CSI:Hell Dimension next season.

Spoiler:
This is what I have heard as well. I am pretty sure that it is non-credited person - maybe one of the detectives that we see now and then.

Here's the SPOILERS for next week's episode from TVGuide.com:

Spoiler:
May 15: Inside the Box: Things get personal for the CSIs in the top-rated series' third-season finale, which explores the intersection of the investigators' work and their personal lives. Three masked bandits steal a safe-deposit box from a Las Vegas bank in a daring daytime heist, during which Det. Lockwood (Jeffrey D. Sams) is killed. Lockwood's death provides Grissom and his crew with added incentive to find the murderous culprits. But the case really hits home for Catherine when the evidence leads to casino owner Sam Braun (Scott Wilson), who is like a father to her. Also, Grissom's hearing gets progressively worse and he seeks out Dr. Robbins for help.
