Recording alert for Thursday 5/1 - Pres Bush national televised address at 9 pm

President Bush will announce the end of "major combat operations" in the Iraqi war in a televised speech Thursday.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/...ain/index.html

Gee thanks for the info, Sherlock Bush.

Don't know if the channel guides on Replay or TIVO will pick this change in scheduling up so people who record Thursday night programming might want to pad accordingly.

If he would speak at 7:30, I would not have to bash.

You West Coasters are so lucky - btwn this and not having to stay up until 12:30 to see the end of Monday Night Football and World Series games, you have it pretty good.

Personally, i'm looking forward to hearing what President Bush has to say. We are living through history, and i find it very interesting. Some of you do not, or at least can't get past your hatred of the President long enough to admit it. Either way, we are all entitled to our opinions.

FYI - acc'd to the Wash Post, expect a 20 minute speech and 10 minutes of follow-up analysis on most of the networks although it will be interesting to see how quickly CBS and NBC bail out of coverage.

Oh christ, me calling our sitting president King George II is no different than Anne Culture (sp?) and all the other conservative minded "talking heads" nicknaming Clinton "Little Willy". So get off your high horse and take a deep breath.

Man, I'm going to have to do some major work with ReplayTV tonight to make sure that I get Friends, CSI, and ER. No way will Replay be able to do this on its own.

I record CSI and W/o a Trace back to back. I plan on adding 60 minutes to Trace just to be safe.

You'll have a problem since you go for ER. I hate to say it, but you may actually have to watch CSI live and just set up a record for Friends & ER. Or you could get a 2nd Replay like I have.

I wonder what happens here in extra-retarded Indiana. For those of you in the rest of the country, here's what happens in IN. We pretend there's no daylight savings time. We're sorta in East cost time Oct-Apr and Central time Apr-Oct. Druing those spring and summer months, all our shows are on one hour tape delay so everything on the networks start at the regular time. Cable is different, so now Six Feet Under is opposite Simpsons (D'oh!).
Anyway, as a result, we'll be the only place in the country where W.'s speech will be opposite Friends and Survivor. I guess they'll just delay everything longer since I'm sure they'll run the speech live, but what a pain in the A$$

Is it any wonder I'm saying "Bye-bye you Midwestern #$#^s"and "Hello Sin City!" ?

Unfortunately, Scrubs already had its season finale, so it probably won't be on during sweeps. I hope I'm wrong.

I said earlier in this thread I would have to do some TiVo padding.

Nevermind, the DirecTiVo already adjusted the CSI start time for me to 8:20cst.

I love TiVo

Eeek... I guess I better check my Tivo when I get home today. I was watching tivo'ed stuff from earlier in the week and didn't even know the president was on.
I hope my Tivo picked up the change and got Will & Grace and ER taped correct.

I was impressed that my DirecTivo changed the start times until 20 after-- except CSI didn't start until 9:26. So I ended up added time to the end of Without a Trace.
