Last episode of an average run..

Episode 707: Red Man's Greed

The owners of the Three Feathers Indian Casino have acquired the town of South Park. The citizens are being forced off their land to make way for a new super highway. Faced with saying goodbye to their friends and their way of life, the boys rally the townspeople to fight back against the rich and powerful Indians.

tanman 04-30-03 09:14 PM

"Why not let the citizens of South Park own South Park?"
"Yeah, we can put our money together and buy it."
"How much do we owe?"
"$300,000"
(stunned silence)
"uh, nevermind."

Oh man, the SARS thing was so bad!! I thought this episode totally sucked until that point. That was great!

Funny episode.

Charlie Goose 04-30-03 11:28 PM

This was the last episode for a while? Yikes, terrible way to finish. Not funny at all. I smiled twice. First with the laughter, "HA ha ha ha, HA ha ha ha.", and then with Stan's father, "Son, there's only a 98% chance I'll live." Other than that, bleah.

OH! Wait a second! I get it now! The WHITE man stole the RED man's land! That's the joke! They switched it around on us! It was so subtle I almost missed it.

I agree. My jaw dropped when they used SARS in this episode and then the rubbing of the Chinese people against the rugs. Great stuff though.

das Monkey 05-01-03 08:36 AM

The best part about the SARS was how they trivialized it to being little more than the common cold. 98% chance of living; Campbell's Soup, DayQuil, and Sprite.

Had it's moments, but wasn't that great.

Not enough Cartman.

That was hilarious! I guess it will be cut from future DVD editions.

Yeah, I got that. Wasn't too hard to miss. However, them telling us that they know the jokes aren't funny, don't make 'em any funnier.

On that, I have to disagree. :) If they were never funny, it would be stupid; but since they so frequently present brilliant social satire, it makes me chuckle that they recognize it when they've put together a silly episode. I laugh at it much the same way I laugh at "You Like-a the Juice, ah? Juice is good, ah?"

Pretty poor episode. The only great episode of this run was the season premiere...the reality show episode.

What makes you say that? They haven't cut anything out in the DVD releases of older episodes, and there's far more offensive stuff to be found in those.

I thought this episode sucked and was the worst one of the season. The best episode in this 7 episode run was the Jimmy/Timmy crips one.

the narrator 05-01-03 03:54 PM

just an average episode..nothing all that funny about it
