American Idol - 4/21 (special) & 4/22

Looks like Monday will just be a time for the remaining six to talk about their experiences thus far, sing their favorite songs, and Idol to show us some highlight clips.

Tuesday will be the actual show, and I haven't figured out the theme yet. However, I've heard that it'll be Diane Warren songs.

So, this means I won't have to hear Clay sing Unchained Melody twice this week?

I'd like to see something like a Rocky Horror Picture Show night. That would be awesome. Could you imagine Clay singing I'm Gonna Make You A Woman while glancing at Carmen.

Has anyone heard if the special will have the contestants singing their favorite "Love songs" to push the cd that'll be released on Tuesday?

Hopefully Carmen would sing "I'm Going Home"

I could see Josh trying a bit of "Hot Patootie." Trenyce could do "Touch-a Touch-a Touch Me," (although she's the most likely candidate for a transvestite out of the group), Ruben maybe "Super Heroes," and I guess Locke could start the show off with some "Science Fiction - Double Feature."

Ah! I see my mistake. Carmen would sing, "I Will Make You a Man" whilst glancing at Clay.

Clay, could sing "Sweet Transvestite."

Josh could try to sing Hot Patootie.

Ruben, I think, should sing Meatloaf's song, "Eddie"

Then Locke could start the show with Science Fiction - Double Feature.

Not sure how that would work. I guess it would be funny hearing Ruben try to do Dr. Scott's accent, but that's a very low song, and who would sing Columbia's part?

Maybe he could break out with "Sword of Damocles."

For Tivo users, this probably means we will need to add the Monday show as it will not be included in the season pass.

I think I'll skip tonight's episode. It doesn't look like much of a riveting ep...

Not that there's anything wrong with it at all, but my gaydar was going off bigtime when Clay was on tonight.

Carmen seems like a maneater (in that she seems pretty determined).

Clay is actually not as scrawny as he looks. He's got a good frame on him (heightwise), but just looks like a dweeb. He totally lords over Seacrest.

After listening to Kelly Clarkson's album, I really don't think there's anyone left in the competition that could produce a more listenable album than Kelly made. I'm not as optimistic about the AI2 winner, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

We had to laugh at some of the signs in the audience: Clay-Doh, Clayground, etc. I was sctatching my head at this one: "I want Clay to hug my sister." Plus the ever popular "Aiken for Clay."

My husband came up with a great nickname for him: Clayken.

First off, I don't think ANYONE is hitting Carmen. She and her family are EXTREME Mormons. Second, I'm pretty sure that he's you're second option.

We need Metal Week!

The current themes are so similar, it's pretty useless to have themes at all.

Clay appears to be the only one in this bunch who can give a decent interview. He's the only one I can imagine doing a good job on Leno, Regis, etc.

Everyone else here is just BORING.

And is it just my imagination, or was Clay NOT making the weird faces he usually makes when he sings? Maybe Simon's comment actually worked.

Yeah, and I found Ruben VERY VERY boring.
Couldn't even pull the "2-0-5" jokes off as even close to funny.
While he is the favorite it seems to win the whole thing, he just lacks in public speaking.

He has charisma on stage and can sing fairly well.
However, giving an interview he doesn't project his voice, seems not to care much, and is a bit distant.
Sometimes I wonder if he is playing shy, but I don't think so.
He just needs some work on that department.

I thought Kimberly Caldwell, pulled the "interview" type stuff off the best, however she's gone now.

Clay can't go on Conan's show though, as Conan coming face-to-face with his younger self would cause a ripple in the time/space fabric.
