Did I just see the popular 2000/2001/2002 Lisa simpsons episode?

In some of the "what is the best simpsons episodes" threads I always see a Lisa episode that aired within that time frame. The episode that came on Syndication just now had a guy that Lisa had a crush on, he gets arrested, and Lisa wants to save a tree. She leaves and gets strucked by lightning and people all think that Lisa is dead. In the end the guy knocks over a poll that was going to be a Lisa Simspson theme park and the tree distroyed lots of stuff.
If this is indeed the episode, while it is a good episode, it is not as good as you all say it is.

I doubt it was the same episode, I think the general consensus is that ep is garbage.

The "classic" Lisa episode is from last year, when Lisa pretends to go to college: "Little Girl in the Big 10."

That has to be the one. That wasn't just a good Lisa episode, it was a good episode in general.

The only good Lisa episode was her future wedding.

if i am thinking of the same thing as you, that wasn't really a Lisa episode.

That was a mix of Lisa, Homer, and Bart days.

My favorite Lisa episode would probably be when she had a crush on Nelson.

Least favotrite is when we see the future with Lisa as President (Bart more than anything ruined that one for me).

I enjoyed the original Bleeding-Gums Murphy and Lil' Lisa Slurry eps... But I'm not sure they rise to the level of classics...

They pretty much summed up Lisa's character in the episode where Homer coaches the little league football team. She comes out and protests that they don't let girls play football. Then Ned points out that they already had two or three girls on the team. Then Lisa says she wouldn't play football because they cruelly slaughter a pig to make the ball. Ned points out that the ball is synthetic (and I believe a portion of the proceeds on each sale go to charity). Lisa's lip quivers, her eyes tear up, and she storms off.

She's usually an annoying, one trick pony of a character.

Now "Little Girl In the Big 10" was different, but a lot of the good stuff had to do with the crazy coach and Bart's "bubble boy" antics... not really Lisa.

I don't know where people get the idea that the Lisa-centirc episodes suck.

Lisa the Lionheart

Lisa's Competition (w/Homer the sugarman or "I bent my Wookie")

Lisa's Wedding

Lisa the Vegiterian

the Dustin Hoffman episode

the above are some of the best episodes ever, and there are many more - and they are all gold - just because they focus on Lisa (who is actually kind of annoying) doesn't mean they're bad.
