Anyone Tape Letterman when Elvis Costello Hosted???
 

Reading "Entertainment Weekly", I just found out that Elvis Costello, my hero, hosted an episode of The Late Show while Letterman was out. Is this right???? Did anyone tape it??? I NEED A COPY!!!!!!!

I saw it, but didn't tape it. Considering he's a musician and not a "professional" talk show host, I thought he did a good job. He moved side to side a bit too much for me during the monologue, but it's not like I could do any better. He was pretty funny (one comment, not exact, that I remember when a joke didn't go over well: "be kind to the British - we're the only friends you have left").

When was this? I don't watch Letterman that much, but this would have been interesting. Any chance of a rerun somewhere, some time?

I would guess that there's very little chance of a rerun, ever. He did a pretty good job and sang "Letterman" (to the tune of Allison) and Peace, Love, and Understanding.

Sorry, I've taped over it by now. (Forgot who the guest was, but it was someone I wanted to see.) I was impressed -- Elvis was very quick-witted.

Don't forget Mitch Hedberg!! I love this guy he is funny.

he was in the top 3 of guest hosts imo. he didn't just do a good job because he is a musician he did an excellent job overall. better than most of the actors on there.

and likewise for me i taped over it already. you should have watched it. there were many letterman guest host threads which had the info.
