Need help with an old TV mini-series (77-84?)

I've been trying to remember this show for decades now.

I first remember seeing this when I was somewhere in the 4th to 8th grade, which was about 1978 to 1982.

It was about this guy who had a magic bow. He was on a mission to defeat this guy with full body armor and and a big helmet, and rode around on a chariot. He always had enough arrows to complete a particular mission and then the sky would grow dark, he'd get more information, and a new bunch of arrows would appear in the ground. I'm pretty sure the bow and arrows were always black, and I think there was a big red gem in the bow.

Sometimes when he fought the bad guy, it would be like he was in a netherworld...there would be fog all over and everything seemed to move in slow motion.

I never saw the end of this mini-series either.

Does anyone remember this show?

Damn, beat me to it:

As for the reason you never saw the end of it, it never aired, nor do I think it was even filmed.

Fun stuff for a kid of the (A)D&D generation.

Do you ever think to yourself..."I need to know xyz piece of information...I know! Someone on DVDTalk will know it!" :D

Thanks guys! That was the show.

Too bad it was a pilot that was never picked up. :(

Since I really doubt it'll ever hit DVD, I'll probably pick up the tape from half.com.

The bow was just so cool! :D

Only problem is, most of the questions I have don't have answers.
