Angel 3-26-03

Just thought we might need a thread about tonight's episode that doesn't deal with the show being cancelled. (Or the possibility thereof)

B.A. 03-26-03 08:57 PM

Now that was a good ending...and I just want to say, "Way to go Gunn!"

Dr. DVD 03-26-03 08:57 PM

Well, the ending definitely has me tuning in whenever they have the next new episode.

No pun intended there right, Dr. DVD?;)

What an awesome ending!

I was thinking how they could be that dumb and not see it, but yay team!

Well, except for Conner, of course. Remember he was raised in the "Dimension of utter stupidity".

I was really ready to hate the episode. I was clear pretty quickly that Electrogirl was setting Gunn up but the payoff made up for it. It was almost like seeing the Gunn of old. The Cordy set up wasn't a shock either but it nice to finally see the cards start to fall into place. And was it me or for like a second did it seem like Conner was starting to grow a pair? If the show does get picked up for next year, and I think it will I hope the first order of biz is no more inter-office romances.
Never thought I would say this but as it stands right now, at least for me, Angel is kicking Buffy's butt.

Oh, that's been the case for me all season.

Great ending!!

easily the most consistent season since the first. My main problem with seasons 2 & 3 was there would be great episodes and the conclusions would just lame out. Not to stray too far off topic but outside of a few episodes this year, Buffy feels like they are just going through the motions. The best part of seeing Willow last week on Angel was that it felt like I was watching a Willow that I knew as opposed to the one on Buffy these days. I'd love to see her & Andrew jump shows and head over to Angel.

Who thinks Cordy was only in the first few episodes? She never came back. The boss figured a good disguise and took Cordy's form. She is still in the sky yelling down at them.

I'm half expecting once they realize about the pregnat 'Cordy', it will switch scenes and show the real one in the sky.

Maybe, but I wouldn't place any bets on it. I keep thinking he won't be stupid and as you said, "grow a pair", but then he disappoints and just seems to fall further and further into his own idiotic, naive hell.

MrX 03-26-03 10:44 PM

I thought it was good

Loved the ending.

It was a weird ep from the standpoint that it advanced the story but the Gunn/Gwen story was just their for filler,

lwhy? 03-26-03 11:40 PM

I loved the ending. I knew it would either be that or the death of Lorne. Anyone see what Cordy's belly did. That was kind of freaky. I am still trying to decide if that is Cordy or not. It could be an imposter or Cordy possessed by her demon child, but that has been done already in Season One. I do not see why they would have her possessed by a demon baby again.

CaptainMarvel 03-27-03 01:12 AM

Great, great ending. I just kept hoping that Connor would step out at the end, and reveal that he'd ratted out Cordy to the rest of the gang.

zero 03-27-03 01:18 AM

damn...

...thats all I gotta say about tonights episode :)

nny 03-27-03 01:25 AM

Yeah, I was thinking Connor would save Lorne at the end.

Also, I think last season was the most consistent with amazing conclusions. "Sleep Tight", "A New World", and "Tomorrow" are 3 of my favorite hours of any television show and they were also the major conclusions last season.

I've loved this season, but the last few episodes haven't been as good as the first half of the season.

MrN 03-27-03 03:25 AM

I liked it - especially the ending.
I just hope they're not writing Gunn out of the show and taking Gwen along with him. I just thought that relationship came out of nowhere. Geez dude, she's never even kissed a guy, don't throw her in the deep end!

Yeah, Connor does seem to be as smart as a box of rocks. I notice he wasn't in that last scene. I'm thinking he'll jump to Cordy's rescue next episode - just a guess.

lol It's called "adolescence". We were ALL that stupid at one point. Some of us still are (you know who you are! :D).

hahn 03-27-03 03:59 AM

Well, I kinda figured out the ending. But I didn't see that Gwen/Gunn thing coming! :D Woohoo! Giddyap Gunn! But I must've missed when he broke up with Fred (if he did?). I knew their relationship was rocky while Angelus was around, but I don't remember them ever saying "it's over".

Anyhow, ya know what would be a GREAT twist? If an evil demon had in fact taken Cordy's body and is now giving birth to Cordy's mortal form, but she comes back in the evil demon's body! Plus, think how twisted this would be! Connor would then be the father of the girl that Angel once loved! Or maybe it's just getting late and all this is going to sound stupid in the morning. :D

Patman 03-27-03 07:00 AM

You go, Gunn! I guess Gunn is moving on.

The translations were pretty funny.

"It not all about holding hands."

"Definitely."

retihsuhnt 03-27-03 10:32 AM

"Well, the ending definitely has me tuning in whenever they have the next new episode."

Prior to Faith's arrival the promos were stating that from her first appearance to the season finale were to be "all new". An unprecedented run for this show, hopefully the heads at the WB pull their heads out and renew this show.

tofu 03-27-03 11:02 AM

Crap, I missed it because of stupidity. (I was playing Zelda)

Can I get a recap? Thanks -smile-

MrX 03-27-03 11:22 AM

It was mostly filler until the end. Lorne was in an empty building doing a spell to get his mind reading power back. He needed to be by himself to do it and Cordy went there to kill him. As she was sneaking up behind Lorne Angel comes from behind her and Fred and Wes come out with guns. It was a trap.

A bit of a drop-off in the overnight ratings this week: 3.2/4.

Guess all those Faith fans who tuned in for her left along with Willow -confused-

Or it's because of the war coverage.
