what shows (primetime) do you watch on what channels?

it is interesting to see what people watch (asside from the dvds that we are all obsessed with). it will also show who watches the most tv. ;)

i'll add the time and day of the week for more information and because i am that bored. i don't have cable so this will be easier for me.

abc: 5 hours
dragnet (10:00-11:00 tuesday)
the practice (9:00-10:00 monday)
8 simple rules for dating my teenage daughter (8:00-8:30 tuesday - taped)
according to jim (8:30-9:00 tuesday - taped)
nypd blue (10:00-11:00)
my wife and kids (8:00-8:30 wednesday) - only watched if dawson's creek or ed were reruns, which won't be a problem anymore since ed got the friday slot
george lopez (8:30-9:00 wednesday) - see above

cbs: 1 hour
survivor (8:00-9:00 thursday)

fox: 0 hours
nothing. it would be a different story if i had decent enough reception to watch the channel. i'd definitely catch boston public, and most likely american idol. not 24 because i got season 1 for christmas aka in the middle of season 2. i'll pick it up later.

nbc: 9 hours
american dreams (8:00-9:00 sunday - taped)
the west wing (9:00-10:00 wednesday - taped)
law & order (10:00-11:00 wednesday)
friends (8:00-8:30 thursday - taped)
scrubs (8:30-9:00 thursday - taped)
will & grace (9:00-9:30 thursday)
good morning miami (9:30-10:00 thursday)
er (10:00-11:00 thursday)
mister sterling (8:00-9:00 friday - taped) - i think this was moved to 8:00-9:00 wednesdays where i'll probably drop it for the other 8:00-9:00 mentioned.
ed (9:00-10:00 friday - taped)
law & order: svu (10:00-11:00 friday)

upn: 1 hour
buffy the vampire slayer (8:00-9:00 tuesday)

wb: 5.5 hours
smallville (5:00-6:00 sunday) - last week's rerun
everwood (6:00-7:00 sunday) - last week's rerun
charmed (8:00-9:00 sunday)
dawson's creek (8:00-9:00 wednesday)
what i like about you (8:00-8:30 friday)
greetings from tuscon (sp?) (random 30 minute block some fridays)
grounded for life (9:30-10:00 friday) - don't know if this is the final time slot this ends up in.

total hours of tv a week: 21.5 hours, with 1 hour up in the air, since i only have 1 vcr and 3 8 o'clock wednesday timeslots if mister sterling goes there.

shows i'd watch if i had cable: sopranos, osbournes, six feet under, queer as folk, and the shield.

and i'm done. this thread probably won't get much love, but i thought it'd be cool. post away.

freedexter 03-22-03 10:25 PM

I don't count cable TV, since primetime is usually reserved for network TV. If nothing good is on, I'm glad I can usually catch a repeat of "Spongbob" or some foodtv thing.

Anyhow, here's what I catch every week:

WB: (3 hours a week)
Everwood
Gilmore Girls
Reba
Grounded for Life

FOX: (90 minutes a week)
The Simpsons
Boston Public

NBC: (1 hour a week)
Friends
Will and Grace
Scrubs (if I'm too lazy to change the channel)

CBS: (0 hours a week)
I've grown tired of Survivor and I can't get into CSI too much.

ABC: (2+ hours a week)
Bonnie Hunt Show
Less Than Perfect
The Family (just started watching)
The George Lopez Show
Alias

UPN: (0 hours a week)
I sometimes forget it exists, because I stopped watching Buffy.

PAX: (0 hours a week)
It's a cable channel here, shoved way in the back.

Total: ~ 8 hours a week. It only now occurs to me that I would die without cable to pass the time.

wendersfan 03-22-03 10:25 PM

During the 13 weeks when the Sopranos is on I watch HBO Sundays @ 9:00. I used to watch Six Feet Under, but this season sucks pretty much, so I quit watching.

That's it. I watch Buffy every week, but forum restrictions dictate that I don't specify how I watch it.

I have a dish, so no network TV for me - not that I'd miss it, as I've pretty much given up on anything that has commercials.

WiccanPagan 03-22-03 10:29 PM

i'd count cable/premium channels i just don't have either so i didn't have anything to list. :)

das Monkey 03-23-03 12:45 AM

I don't really watch much of anything. I'll catch the local nightly news sometimes, and I try to catch The Isaac Mizrahi Show whenever I can. Oh, and I love Will & Grace.

Law & Order
Law & Order: SVU
Boomtown

and I also watch Six Feet Under & Sex & The City on HBO.

Total TV Hours: 13

calhoun07 03-23-03 08:35 AM

Faithfully:

Everwood (WB)
Smallville (WB)
That 70's Show (Fox)
What I Like About You (WB)
Grounded for Life (WB)
Oliver Beene (Fox)

And it depends on the mood I am in, since they compete against one another:

7th Heaven (WB)
Boston Public (Fox) tho I have lost interest in this show during this season

Enterprise (UPN) every now and then, same with Twilight Zone (UPN). I catch those sporadically. They are ok, but not must see TV.

Futurama (fox) and King of the Hill (fox) if they are not preempted and I don't forget they are on!

I will say that I am less likely to watch a show if I know it's coming out in season sets on DVD, or will come out in season sets on DVD.

Doughboy 03-23-03 11:53 AM

WB:

Angel
Smallville(I tape it since I watch 24)
The Jamie Kennedy Experiment(underrated show)

Fox:

24(I watch it in Fox's pseudo-HD)
Andy Richter Controls the Universe(likely cancelled at this point)

UPN:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
WWE Smackdown(first hour)

ABC:

Alias(I watch it in HD)

Breakfast with Girls 03-23-03 03:54 PM

Required Viewing (3 hours per week):

Fox: 24
UPN: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
WB: Angel

Non-Essential Viewing (varies, maybe 2.5 hours total per week):

Fox: The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, pretty much whatever is on Sunday night
Cartoon Network: Futurama and Sealab 2021 on Sunday night

I catch Smallville and Everwood on Sundays when I can, so I don't know if that counts.

Total: A little over 5 hours a week. Very little non-primetime TV as well, maybe a couple hours on top of that.

On basic TV channels I don't have any show I have to watch every week. If I happen to catch them I won't turn it off but I don't watch repeats:

No more than 5 hours weekly.
Scrubs
Buffy
Angel
Charmed
Enterprise
70s Show

On the SciFi channel I try (6 hours) not to miss:
Stargate Mondays (3 hours of SG-1)
SciFi Fridays 1) Dead Zone 2) Farscape 3) SG-1
Soon Tremors will be on Fridays. I also try to catch the made for SciFi movies like Dune and Taken when they air.

The rest of my TV time goes to DVDs. I try to get in 5 movies (est 10 hours) a week.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 04:24 AM.
