Good Eats Fans - Join Me
Well I'm a huge fan of this show and Alton Brown.
I didn't see a thread about this show so I figured I would start one - and see if there were any other fans out there. I love how he explains the "science" and "what / how" behind certain foods or how they are made. I have his book (which is ok) but I wish he would come out with others... I would pick up the DVDs but they are too much $ |
I love Good Eats, although I don't watch much TV these days. It's possibly my wife's favorite show.
The fact Emeril is a big star and Alton isn't is one of the world's great injustices... ...well maybe not, but it's bad nonetheless. |
Very clever show--one of my favorites on the Food Network. I've replaced all kinds of stuff in my kitchen with the "multi-tasking" gadgets he uses.

This show rules. I don't cook much, but I find his shows entertaining, informative, and interesting -- weekly! Not many cooking shows can say that.

Never seen it.
Tell me about it! I love good food shows. :D |
Great show. Its like Mr. Wizard for people who love food. I try and watch it whenever I can.

Pop culture, comedy, and plain good eating: Host Alton Brown explores the origins of ingredients, decodes culinary customs and presents food and equipment trends. Punctuated by unusual interludes, simple preparations and unconventional discussions, he'll bring you food in its finest and funniest form. Good Eats airs Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., Thursdays 12 a.m., Saturdays at 9:30 a.m., Sundays at 6:30 p.m. and Mondays at 3:30 a.m. All times ET. |
Too intellectual for me. ;) I'd rather see more delicious cooking/food than learn how the electrons move to cook a turkey.
|
Me and my girl love the shot too! Hes really funny and smart.

Alton Brown is the shizzle.
|
When I was in cooking school I used to watch his show all the time. His explanations are dead on and he explains things so that everyone can do them. Plus he is funny as hell. :)

One of the 10 best shows on television IMO. Very funny, intelligent, and it actually teaches you how to cook instead of showing you a recipe or two. That reminds me, I have to buy his book:

I went to his book signing and the dude's as funny in person as he is on the show. Very cool guy and a great show.
Fry some more. |
Fantastic show! IMO, the best cooking/food series on TV.
Just the other day, I learned more than I ever wanted to know about cabbage... :whofart: |
did they change this show's format recently? i used to watch it a while ago and tuned in recently and something was different. i'm not sure if its the set or the type of camera they use, something has definetly changed though. anyone else notice this or am i just a burnout?

I learn more about cooking from scratch with everyday items from Alton than I do with any of the other shows on the Food Network. Food 911 comes close...

What I want to know is "Oliver's Twist" taped in his own flat. More info can be found here: http://www.goodeatsfanpage.com/ |

Alton Brown rules. Love his show. Him and Tony Bourdain (A Cook's Tour) are the best chefs on Food Network, IMO. Tony's books "A Cook's Tour" and "Kitchen Confidential" are both really good. Haven't read Alton's book yet.

I love this show...I have a Good Eats channel set up in my ReplayTV!
