Dragnet 3/16
 

This was another episode that I really enjoyed. I particularly liked how Friday knew that everyone was playing him, but that he was able to turn it around against them.

They still aren't writing the character of Frank Smith very well, it's like he's the dumb emotional cop who can't think straight. That's my only gripe about the show at this point - and like I said before, with Ed O'Neil's performances each week that just seems like nit picking. Ed is fantastic, and this show really gives him a chance to shine as a dramatic actor.

I'm finally getting into the habit of turning on network TV on Sunday night. For the first 3 weeks I kept forgetting that the show was on, and would miss the first 5-10 minutes of the show. Dragnet is the antithesis of The Shield, but I love both. I'd like to see both have nice long runs.

This was another good episode of Dragnet. The idea that Joe Friday is such an understated, but smart detective is pretty fun to watch, and teaching his young pup of a partner the ropes is also entertaining.

Loved the Latin lesson he gave the perp at the end. Ed O'Neil just barely hid his "Al Bundy" smirk though in that scene.

The Insurance "Claim adjuster" was mighty easy on the eyes, and was working her charms on Smith, the rookie, rather easily for the first half of the episode. That was good for some mild chuckles.

Once again, another great episode.

Yup, another good one. I really enjoy this show, although I would like to see an occasional episode where they don't get the bad guy.

Another thumbs up. Really like how Friday is teaching the kid to think for himself without being condescending or preachy. Or schmaltzy (Hello, Crossing Jordan, I'm looking in your direction.....)

Dragnet is firmly entrenched on my VERY short list of Must See shows for the week.....

It was an okay episode in my opinion. Definitely not one of their best ones, but good. I used to prefer Boomtown, but I gave up on it a while ago, since I got turned off by all of their ridiculous plot twists in the last five minutes of the show. Having Kingpin interrupt it for almost a month didn't help either...

I really liked this episode. We were just learning about robbers in my Deviance class and that bit about armed robbers living the high life in vegas was right outta the lectures. It's nice when school actually becomes useful in real life ;)

I've always liked ONeil and his acting on Dragnet just adds to my liking him

I thought this was a very good episode. Had a Thomas Crown Affair vibe to it. Ed O'Neill is great in this role. I never would have thought that I could think of him as anything other than Al Bundy.
