Jared Padalecki to star in the WB remake of MacGyver
 

I read this in Entertainment Weekly "Winner of the Week Jared Padalecki Alexis Bledel's Rory dumped him on Gilmore Girls, but the young actor lassoed the title role in the WB's much-anticipated remake of MacGyver." What do you all think of this? He might make a good MacGyver.

Is he going to fashion devices out of Subway sandwiches?

I guess when Rory moves on to college, she's going to have to find a whole new cohort of male would be suitors.

Lets just hope it isn't reported that Lain has landed the role of Margaret Cho in a teenage remake of All American Girl :)

I checked IMDb. WTF -- he's only 20.

He is supposed to be the nephew of MacGyver, not actually MacGyver.

Anyhow, it makes sense. It's not as if Stars Hollow can move along with the Gilmore Girls. I bet by next year, the only remaining cast members will be Rory and Lorelai, the Grandparents, Paris, and maybe, (although I doubt it) Sookie and Jackson. Everybody else will probably be let go.

If he's the nephew, does this mean we'll get an appearance from the real MacGyver in the pilot?

Maybe he'll build a Stargate -smile-
