X-Men Evolution
Has X-Men Evolution been cancelled? I haven't seen it in the line-up in a few weeks. Did they move it to some other slot. Hope it is still going. One of the few Saturday cartoons I like.
They're going to bring it back to tie in with X2.
I just could never get into this. I wasn't fond of making some of the characters into teenagers, such as Cyclops and Jean Grey but keeping Beast as an adult when in the comics they all started out together.
WB is crazy with their programing. They got rid of all the good shows like Batman, Batman Beyond, Superman and replaced it with Mucha Lucha and Osmosis Jones and crap like that.
The only shows I like anymore is Jackie Chan and X-Men. I really hope they didn't get rid of it. http://www.wb16.com/data/shows/63_xmen_1.jpg I love Jackie Chan! :) http://www.naatanet.org/community/ar...-rt-jackie.gif http://meiling.freeservers.com/jade.jpg Jade is cool :) |

X-Men Evolution is great! Very few "kids" cartoons show character development throughout a series. I really liked that they've developed all of the characters, good and evil, and have shifted the direction a few times, such as bringing in the mutant ostracism and the x-men outlaw status. Very cool stuff. They do well with the cliffhangers as well (when they have a multi-part episode). Always makes me want to watch the next episode to find out what's going to happen. Good continuity with relation to previous episodes. I can't say enough good stuff :D

ShadowKat is a hottie
Oops.. did I say that out loud again? :o I think Evolution is pretty good. It's more in tune with the movie version. The only thing missing is a hot looking Emma Frost in charge of the Brotherhood instead of Mystique. My only arguement is that not enough episodes happen before it's replayed over and over. Oh and I happen to like Mucha Lucha.. and I'm glad they brought back Static Shock. Yu-Gi-Oh is also pretty good. |
Oh man, it's been awhile since I watched it and had forgotten how hot they made the girls on that show. It's so wrong, they're cartoons and they're underage. It makes me feel doubly bad for being attracted to them.
Don't know if anyone's interested or not, but they've started to show X-Men: Evolution repeats on Cartoon Network at 10:30 PM Sun-Thurs (right before Futurama). My TiVo just started picking up the shows :D

I stopped watching this b/c I just couldn't get into it. After the early 90's X-men cartoon, I was totally spoiled.
the older cartoon series was closer to the early 90's comic versions and the Uncanny X-men of the time.. after the film I will have to say that the Evolution cartoon matches a bit more to. it's a sad state of affairs since the newer X comics really are going through the same thing.

Are you saying the X comics are worse now than they were 10 years ago? That's insane. New X-men, X-statix, and Exiles are 3 of the best comics out right now. And if you want something more mainstream, you can read Uncanny X-men or X-treme X-men. There's been so many people I've seen say they thought they'd never read another X-title until Marvel did the revamp 2 years ago.
The revamp was/is terrible if you ask me. Then again I'm not one that likes all the super hero's in Black leather outfits and I enjoyed the age of apocoplyse (Sp) storyline.
I caught a couple of the new ones. Very unimpressive compared to the Fox version. Sorry, I don't want to see a bunch of kids. Fox version was also more action packed. I loved how the theme song would begin to play as the X-Men fought the bad guys.
See, I feel the exact opposite. I love to see alternative takes on cartoons like this. The genre and the subject matter are perfect for it.
I also like Evolution. Though I enjoyed the original Xmen cartoon, the quality of animation was pretty shakey. By adopting more of a Batman: Animated Series style, the animation is much smoother.
And of course you'll get people that hate the fact that it's not the comic book Xmen (of course, people could argue that the current comic book Xmen aren't the real Xmen either). But for a total revisioning of the concept, it's much better than the old Ironman or Avengers cartoons. |
I like it and think that both series have their merits.
Fox: had much more story and fighting but the pacing was horrible and the dialogue even worse WB: the story is much more involving and the animation is worlds better, character development is much better as well; not enough action, everyone gets along too well, not enough magneto. for inspiration ;) http://www.katherinelawrence.com/rogue.gif http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori...mystiqueth.jpg http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori.../stormmain.jpg http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori...kittypryde.jpg http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stori...6/jeanleft.jpg |
