Really how realistic are these shows. Jimmy Kimmel said it best "They call it reality television. Yeah, because every day a supermodel, a Navy SEAL and a fat naked gay guy hang out on an island together and eat bugs".

The next reality show I want to see is Survivor:the Bronx! Imagine the pitch for that one "This time nobody will make back alive!"

what about Survivor:in the snow( someplace cold for a change)?

Damn right, I want Survivor Antarctica... That way they really do have to survive something, not just worry about starvation.

Anyway, Jeff Probst was on Howard Stern the other day, and a caller asked him why they never do a cold environment. He said it would be beause the people wouldn't be able to wear swimsuits.

Typical...

I watched the first season of survivor and half of the second. And that's all the 'reality' programming I need to watch. At least with so much of this nonsense clogging up the airwaves these days it narrows down the shows I *do* want to watch better....

Any chance this so called "reality tv" thing is a blessing in disguise. I've been thinking, with all the extra comedies and dramas that have to be made to fill up the schedules of too many (WB,UPN)networks. The good writers are really pulled thin. Less shows that need writers mean less crappy writers and better shows.

Now the argument is being made here by some that there is good and bad tv be it traditional or moder day reality. Well I must respectfully disagree. I'd like someone to name something in this current crop that qualify as good.

IMHO

Survivor-Crap
Joe Millionaire-Crap (Even though I have never seen it nor, will I).
Fear Factor-Crap
Mole-Most likely Crap (Even though I have never seen it nor, will I).
American Idol-Crap
Bachelor & Bachelorette-Crap (Even though I have never seen it, nor will I).
Anna Nicole-Crap
Osbornes-Crap

That looks like a pretty High percentage of crap. Now,these are shows that I have actually heard of that are on the air. of course someone will come on with a list of comedies they think are crap. But comedy, as beauty is in the eye of the behohlder. Where one man's crap makes another man laugh so hard he craps in his pants. Bad comedies seldom become ratings winners. They dissapear like crap down the toilet, which is were I wish this reality craze would go.

Sounds like a "Buffy vs B5 vs X-Files vs Trek" debate waiting to happen.
