24: Season 2 - Hour 12 - 2/11/03

7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Okay, let's hope 24 gets back on track from a breather episode to live up to its self-imposed moniker: The most compelling hour of TV!

It's Tuesday, Kim must be lion around or running for her life.

Jack is back on the hunt for Ali with Kate's help after watching a true believer burn himself to death.

Palmer's pain palace is going balls to the walls for Stanton.

Marie is displaying some very desirable skills for a terrorist.

Bob hasn't given us much to work with in regards to his being involved or not with the nuke.

Tony might be getting set up by Michelle, who really knows.

Nina is sitting in a cell somewhere, we hope.

Fox makes it sound like this is supposed to be "the most shocking hour of television" this season.

Hope it lives up to that and kills off Kim.............

That's what the teaser ad for 24 have been showing the past week. Gotta love Fox for spoiling every detail of shows like 24 for its viewers the week before the new episode shows up.

Kill Kim? What an interesting and novel idea. Why hasn't someone suggested this before? A plot twist like that would prove that the writers of this show are the best writers of any television show ever.

[I hope the show's writers read this thread.]

Well, I know it's been suggested before..........I just want to add my voice to the masses.

Maybe if we all think about it hard enough, it will come true.

Jack's gonna break all the rules!! Normally I'd be screaming my ass off at the numerous legal violations sanctioned by the Palmer administration... but this time I'll let it go.

No, go ahead and roll your eyes. I did at last week's episode. Still a fun show, though. I'm looking forward to Jack reasserting his complete bad-assedness again.

Oh, and - kill Kim!

Kim can't die! You know she's going to somehow get captured by the terrorists and then at the end accidentally trip over the nuke's cord and unplug it, saving millions of lives.

Pretty good episode.
Spoiler:
Jack finds Ali and tortures him all through the episode. Finally he gets someone to capture his family and he says he is going to kill them if Ali doesn't tell him where the nuke is. The President finds out and calls Jack and tells him not to kill the family. Ali doesn't believe him so Jack gives the command to kill one of the kids. Ali finally cracks when Jack threatens to kill the second and he tells Jack where the nuke is. It turns out that the kid wasn't really killed and it was just a video trick they used. The nuke is located at at a airport and they are planning to fly it over the city and detonate it there. At the end of the episode it shows Marie meeting up with the guys and activating the nuke with Jack and Kate on their way to the airport to try and stop them.

I gotta say, I usually watch the promos for next week, and most often they don't give away too much. But this week's sure did, as do the ads. Oh well.

Is there any chance that Sherry Palmer is actually stringing Stanton along and is really a good person this time? Sigh. I doubt it.

When she goes to hte meeting it is Sherry there and Sherry says that it isn't what she thinks and that the people are trying to make her believe that Sherry is really trying to hurt the President when she isn't

The president's redhead assistant gains a whole lot of respect in this episode, it was also probably the best one this season. No spoilers from me since Blaster resumes it quite nicely.

Spoiler:
Very little Kim in this episode, YEAH!!!

For this episode.

Spoiler:
I was fairly sure the killing of family members thing was staged. I wish it wasn't, it would have challenged the audience and would have made the show even more interesting.

I wonder how long 'till that dude goes Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Kim...you just know it's coming.

This definitly ranks as one of the top 24 eps, the execution throughout was great.

Not many surprises, just good old fashioned good execution.

On a side note -
Spoiler:
if they killed off family members, undermining the president, I doubt they'd have time to cover it all and have a full plot arc. As it is, I don't think anyone didn't think it was staged, why else would they knock the chair over the shoot 'em.

It would of been so much better
Spoiler:
if they had actually killed his son..... it would of been so much more powerful and the arguing between the president and jack would of been awesome to see, especially if they (well they will) find the bomb with that info
but really a great episode!

I rolled my eyes towards the end when they reveal the video trick.. god forbid the hero of the series is flawed.. It would have made it more interesting..

Also, I wish I didn't see the previews for next week's episode where it states that
Spoiler:
the bomb goes off
