I am getting very tire of the whole

Yea, I know im getting sick of it too. I was like, damn Clark finally got the balls to ask Lana out but when when does have the balls, he ends up having to cancel.

I liked slutty Chloe. :D

This whole Clark/Lana storyline is just ridiculous. It always goes like this: Clark and Lana secretly love each other-->Clark finds out something and tries to protect her---->It backfires and she ends up hating him---->She finds out the truth and she secretly loves him again. I'm getting so sick of it.

Yeah, they should just blow up SD-6 and get those two kids together already.

My biggest problem with this episode was that it was essentially a repeat of "Red", the episode where Clark was first exposed to red kryptonite. Sure the details were different but the structure and "character development" were identical. I use the quotes because I mean that in the most sarcastic tone, I'm not sure it actually qualifies as development when characters do the EXACT same things over & over.

Would it be so bad if Clark & Lana (hell, Clark & anybody at this point!) start dating and are actually happy??? Not every show has to fall into the typical conventions that all the other series on tv execute year after year. Be creative, guys!

I liked the episode but I agree that the whole Lana/Clark thing is getting old.

Yeah. Smallville was great because it was about Superman and it avoided Dawson's Creek-style love plots. Well, it's starting to get there. Very unoriginal and boring.

I was thinking the same thing...

I liked the scene where Clark asked Lana out, it was very My So Called Life. And I like the fact that Clark/Supreman always sacrifices happiness to protect those around him. That said, Lana seems trapped in the soap opera / romantic comedy world of misinterpreting every single thing Clark says or does, which is growing seriously tiresome.

Where on earth did Pete get the Red Krytonite?

What weak and lame plot device. So i take it everytime they want to add conflict after something good happens they whip out red stone? Bah this show neither needs that kind of sell out plot nor Lois Lane. There is enough things that Lana and Clark as just "normal" people will have to deal with to make conflict for many seasons.

Thank you. I don't understand why the networks push these writers to end the tension that such relationships bring to a series. We don't know how faithful Smallville is going to be to Land and Clark of the comics, but there's obviously a lot of room to get them together or not. If you start doing this fake getting together stuff though, like Clark and Lana kissed but he was naughty red Clark, or he was really a shapeshifter or whatever, it feels like a cheat too.

On the other hand, if you stretch it out too much it becomes meaningless too. X-Files lost any tension it had out of the Mulder-Scully thing after the kiss bee sting in the movie, I think, except for maybe that black-and-white ep on the Nazi cruise liner (That was after the movie, right?).

I agree 110%.

First of all, from the way Pete's been developed, it obvious they're only keeping elements of the comic books. [In the current comics Pete is white, married to Lana, the Vice President to Lex's President & it's LANA not Pete that knows his secret.]

As far as the L/C tension...I guess it's a fine line between dramatic romantic tension and ridiculousness.

Last nite's Lana resolution was the latter...

This episode sucked, didn't we already have a "Girls Gone Wild" episode last season? Are the writers completely OUT of new material?

God knows I'd pay to see those two girls go really wild on a pay-per-view episode in a couple years, but ugh - buy a new script!

This is the first episode that I watched in a while because the show has been falling back on plot conventions for a while.
I am dont know what happend in the comics but I thought Lana and Clark dated happily for awhile. True?
Time to stop the will they or wont they stuff.

Bad Clark is so much fun. There were plenty of instances of sharp dialog, and I think the reason Clark didn't x-ray Chloe was because, well, I think he was "into" the whole bad girl side of Chloe before he came to his senses, and by then Pete slipped him the Red-K.

The reason Clark doesn't want to tell Lana his secret is because of what happened to Pete and the burden it is for him.

That answered to my most wondered question ever since the very beginning of Smallsville.

I used to collect comics but not Superman, mostly Marvel. But I got the complete 6-part mini-series of Man of Steel, I don't remember if Lana knew Clark's secret.
