This troubled me during the episode as well. The octagon was on the ship during the tornado and then I belive they showed it falling off the ship into the tornado itself. They never showed anyone retrieving the octagon after this...I assummed it was lost. But the all of a sudden Lionel has it!?

I think when the ship crashed the octagon fell out before the ship fell to the ground during the tornado leaving it lost in a field. Lionel may have had his lackeys searching for it.

well, i wasn't the one who spoiled it, it was posted above a few times, and this i was talking about what happened in this episode not the next one. spoiler or not, you come into a thread with an inkling of knowledge that something may get spoiled (hence why i still haven't gone into the star wars 3 thread in movie talk :().
I know it wasn't you. I was commenting on some of the posts above...

And I agree with ya...you come into a TV thread and expect discussion about that ep. Next week's information should be
Spoiler:
spoiled
.

Lionel got ahold of it somehow. I specifically remember it happening, just not the specific episode. It might have been in the one where the crazy scientist guy showed him the ship.

Yeah, kind of a lame ep. Nothing really advanced. I wanted to see some fallout from the last episode. Lex-Clark stuff is one of the only reason I watch the show (Chloe and Lana are the other one ;) )

I am not too concerned with comic continuity. It's SO screwed up, re-imagined, re-done, that who really cares as long as it's Clark Kent, Lex Luthor and ultimately Superman.

I'd rather they tell good stories than try to make things fit with the comics.
