Alias 01/05/03 - A Higher Echelon

Don't forget, new shows are starting back up!

I can't wait to watch Alias in HD tonight. From the looks of it, Sydney's going to try and rescue Marshall, who was mysteriously abducted, but not by the CIA!

Dammit. I knew I should've watched the last episode before clicking on this link. A more Marshall-centric episode sounds great, though.

I have been watching Alias in HD since November and all I can say is.....SWEET!!!!

Time Warner Cable here in Cincinnati only has direct HD feeds for HBO, Showtime, ABC, CBS and NBC. I wish they would get on the ball and pick up FOX and WB64!!! Just a matter of time I am sure...

I think he said "I'm Marshall J. Flinkman, and I'm here to rescue you." Marshall's awesome. Loved the Pong game he programmed for the "Echelon" icon.

So Jack's in major hot water, and we have no idea if Irina made off with access to Echelon during her "assistance" with the hotspots. Jack's also in hot water with Vaughn when he found out that Jack did away with Haladki.

BTW, yes, my HDTV feed also went to a promo for Monster's Inc. in the middle of the show, I had to go back to the analog feed to watch what I was missing in HD. Thank goodness for P-I-P!

Good ep. Jacks storyline is really good. Dixon with dreadlocks was funny.

I loved watching Alias in HD, the picture quality is just amazing (though I did spot some grain in the dark backgrounds/locations, but I'm wondering if it had more to do with the upconverting from 720p to 1080i by the receiver or maybe that's just the way it was filmed).

I really missed "Alias"...was thrilled with this episode.

Jack is in sooo much trouble. And trusting Sloane? Tut tut...he was so evil in this episode, pretending to care that marshall was gone.

Dixon in the DJ get-up was hilarious, and Syd was very "Nelly Furtado".

What was up with that stupid promo? The purple wig was hideous and the whole "Lover's Mission" thing by the announcer was sooo lame. I wonder if Jack/Faye Dunaway storyline will conclude next week...

Anyone want to bet that it ends with Jack going

We need a crossover with Jack Bristow and Jack Bauer. That might be the greatest hour in TV history

Marshall rocks . Too bad he's back with SD-6.

Dixon actually had some things to do!

The stupidity continues..."the Lover's Mission". I could imagine a boardroom filled with frat boys coming up with this dreck.

And i'm disappointed in you guys.

NINE posts and no mention of Syd's red thong peeking through for a brief appearance.

For shame.

I was surprised that Syd or Marshall didn't put a few bullets into Mr. Suit And Glasses when they had the chance.

I wondered if anyone else caught a glimpse of that thong. I just about fell out of the chair.

Oh, I saw it too.

Yowza.

Nice to see proof that Jack killed Haldecki. They've never said anything about that, and you didn't actually SEE Jack kill him. Glad they didn't go the easy route with it and kept him ruthless. Curious to see the fallout.

I want to say "best ... episode ... ever" but I used that for the last episode, and in a fight to the death, I think it slightly edges out this one. So, I guess I'll say "second best ... episode ... ever"

They are on a roll.

I never had a chance to see the last episode and seeing this one makes wish I hadn't missed it before Xmas. Marshall was excellent and funny as hell! It's really good to see him get a little more screen-time/dialogue. I was really glad to see Dixon back from the dead ("I speak nine languages fluently and techno isn't one of them")

It was nice to see Will finally get a job w/ the CIA and Vaughn. It also looks like the Sloan/Jack Bristow storyline is really starting to heat up - I wonder if one of those two will be eliminated before the season is up - it would be surprising, but they might be at that point in the storyline's arc.

Sydney in the jumpsuit was nice.

Someone please refresh my memory. When did Jack kill Haladki. The last time I remember seeing Haladki was when Jack made him give up information to help him break out Sydney from CIA custody (during the Nostrodamus thing).

I am assuming that after getting the info that Jack killed Haladki. Is that it or did Haladki make another appearance after that episode?

How short is Marshall? Sydney practically towered over him during the rescue attempt.

I forget which time Jack finally offed Haladki, but I remember Jack had Haladki tied up on his back (can't recall what he made Haladki give up info-wise) and then there was a cut to another scene and you just assumed that Jack finally offed Haladki for putting Sydney in danger.

IIRC, jack offed hiladki in last year's season finale. he was trying to get information from him and put his hand in a vise grip before he offed him which i thought was kinda cool.
