Brady Bunch in the White House

I actually enjoyed it! Not as good as the theatrical movies, certainly lame and trying in certain parts, but for a made-for-TV movie, it's better than any other Brady movie I've seen on TV. Several laugh out loud moments. And I thought they did a pretty good job on casting new kids, tho I did feel Peter was a tad pudgy, but hey, maybe all that meat loaf is bound to fatten up a boy. And the lady playing Alice wasn't as good as the lady in the movies, IMO.

OK, I have to admit it.

I have both previous Brady Bunch movies on laserdisc.

But, man, oh man. This movie, THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE III was PAINFUL PAINFUL PAINFUL.

And the casting of the new children and new Alice was TERRIBLE. I mean, even the movie version of Jan looked better than this new version of Marcia!!

I guess my expectations were basement level low for this, considering the director was responsible for several horrible kid vids in the past, including Hounded and some Olson Twins videos. Was it worthy to be in the same class as the two previous movies? No, of course not, but for a made for TV movie I thought it was pretty good. I do agree that not all the kids cast were the best (as I already mentioned). I don't think I would buy this on DVD, but it was better than any other made for TV Brady movie I've seen. I don't think it should be compared to the theatrical releases, but to the other TV movies, but that's just me. I can understand why people want to compare it to the theatrical movies when it has Gary Cole and Shelly Long in it. I guess Henriette Mantel was too busy making Papi Chulo to play Alice in this new movie.

Awful, Awful, Awful!

The story line was idiotic, the jokes were forced, and (as mentioned previously), the kids were not cast well (with the exception of Greg, who came closest to the "Greg" from the movies).

I thought the lone bearable part of the movie was the "America" song that they sang in congress. Actually a pretty catchy tune.

And I'm not so sure you can blame it all on the director. The producers had to ok the story-line (not sure what they smoking during that conference)...

I turned it on when Shelly Long (Carol) was singing in front of Congress.
I had nightmares that night.

It was on the Friday after Thanksgiving. I am not sure how you missed it. They advertised it pretty heavilly, along with the other movies they were airing in prime time that holiday weekend.

Well, it was certainly done on a much lower budget than the theatrical films. I didn't think it was that bad; I mean, it is a parody of the series, not be taken seriously.

The kids and Alice weren't the best, I agree.

They should have done this much sooner, with the entire cast from the features.

At least it was better than that awful RERUN TV thing NBC burned off over the summer.

Well, if you liked "Bradys In The White House", your gonna love Sherwood Shewartz's next Brady project..."Brady's In Outer Space". He was quoted as saying that in last week's TV Guide.

Looks like he's trying to drive the show as far into hell as he can.

I remember hearing that UPN or WB was going to do an update of the Brady Bunch with a black family. I wonder what ever happened to that?

I actually liked the 1st and 2nd one. Didn't catch this one, but it looks like I was lucky.
