Friends - 11/14/02

I thought this ep was pretty consistent with the rest of this season - pretty good but it doesn't rank anywhere near the best of Friends.

Nice to Phoebe getting serious with someone - the end of the dinner was actually a little touching.

And Joey was great again. The whole emu bit was truly hilarious:

"Bird meat - yeah right! What does it do, fly right into your mouth?! Or you just go into a restaurant and order a bucket of fried bird. Or maybe just a wing or ..." - and then a classic Joey look of realization.

This was one of the better episodes this season, but are they going to have a plotline this year for anybody besides phoebe? It seems the rest of the cast isn't doing much.

"Friends" had Phoebe's boyfriend declare his love for the wacky Phoebe during a disastrous dinner with his parents, then later of "Will & Grace", Harry Connick Jr. declared his love for wacky Grace during a disastrous brunch with his parents. I thought that was odd.

As for "Friends", it was a consistently funny episode. Best visual was seeing Joey doing a flying bodypress to prevent Chandler from seeing the video.

Honk!

Perhaps you missed the entire NBC ad campaign. It was MEET THE PARENTS Thursday... the two you mentioned plus Elliot's father showed up on Scrubs.

Personally I thought the ad campaign screwed up the big joke in Will & Grace becuase you then KNEW it was Leo's parents at brunch from the get go. NBC - you stink.

Loved Friends though - MORE JOEY!

I thought this episode was rather lame. Especially when compared to last week's episode -- which I thought was the best of the past couple seasons.
