Alias 11/10/02
Just to start up this week's Alias talk.
Pure speculation: So... Spoiler:
|
Having fun, Patman? :D
das |
Too much inhalation of tung oil fumes (staining my speaker enclosures) this afternoon. I be a bit loopy.

That speculation of yours can't be true. Otherwise, Sydney won't be able to grow closer to Vaughn.
Speaking of Alias, does anyone remember a while ago there was an announcement of Alias toy action figures? Are they out now? The announcement mentioned sometime in October, if I remember correctly. Are they available for purchase anywhere? |

Another good solid episode, good to see the father-daughter teamwork in action while at bitter odds with each other. Things don't look so good for Vaughn. Sloane has to be out of his mind by now. When does it rain in Los Angeles?
|
That episode ruled? How serious do you think they will make Vaughn's ailment (beginning next week from the previews)?
It was good to see Will get some work from Vaughn, it will be interesting to see what he finds and what they have his character do - be nice if he became a full-time employee of the CIA's and/or Vaughn's Sydney's father is the most depressing character on tv, I think he even tops Mr. Senate from Boston Public. |
I loved tonight's episode. I like how they're taking their time with the Emily story. Hopefully neither Vaughn nor Irina will die. The more I think about it, the more possible it is that Vaughn and Syd are half brother/sister. Might explain why Irina killed Vaughn dad, and why they haven't mentioned his mother.

And regarding the half-siblings theory...they don't look that alike, IMO. I would imagine there's some resemblance for that to be true. |
Good episode. Sydney had to lie to the senator to save his dad and mom. I wonder if the senator will take up on her words and tell her to start investigate something she made up herself.
|
BTW, what's the punchline to the joke in the begining? I'm sorry, but I've never heard that joke before.

Originally posted by mookiemeister What joke is it? I must have missed the first few minutes of the show. Syd and Vaughn are meeting and she asks him to tell a joke. He begins, telling her about a grasshopper or a cricket (or something) that walks into a bar. The bartender comments on how there is a drink named after it, and Syd interupts, finishing the punchline, but uses a different name than Vaughn used. They both laugh and the sexual tension increased. That was the end, so I want to know the full joke. |

Pretty solid ep.
I thought it was funny seeing Sloane out in the "real world". He's always looks so sinister/imposing at SD-6 & the Alliance, but out in public he looked like a munchkin. :D I was surprised that Syd lied. And while this whole "your dad's getting sent up the river" thing was happening I was wondering what would happen to his cover with SD-6. By the way...way to foreshadow J.J. I didn't see Vaughn's fingertip hemmoraging coming at all... -rolleyes- |
I was wandering if anyone has a copy of the episode. Alabama had some tornado's and bad thunderstorms, so we were unable to see it.
I would love to see it because the Weather was on ABC all night. Please email me if you have it and would lend it to me. [email protected] |

Great episode though I can't wait to see how they save Vaughn's life (you know he's not going anywhere). Nice to see Will working though it would be great if he did become CIA but with the criminal record thing I guess he'll just continue being Vaughn's snitch. Though I did see the Vaughn getting sick storyline coming, i am at a complete loss as to what's going on with Emily.

I thought it was a pretty good episode, as always. They totally threw me when they said Jack was going to prison. They resolved this REALLY quickly, which makes me think they're just setting something up with the senator for a full future show or series of shows.
|
"This is going to drive you insane, but we can't hire you because you have a criminal record."
Great episode. |
The joke about the grasshopper in the bar:
There is a drink named a "grasshopper," but the grasshopper's name is actually something else (any common name will do). It's a really old bar joke. Anyway, anybody else think that Sloan's just hallucinating and doing these things himself out of his self-conscience? If not, the person certainly isn't out to kill him... they could've easily done so at his house. Of course, the hole in my theory is the phone call from the hotel, and the registry there. And I'm still wondering if that injection they gave him when he became a leader of the alliance isn't messing with him somehow. I did like the explanation that whoever is doing this is perhaps trying to tip off his Alliance partners that maybe he didn't kill her after all. Also, anyone else initially think that Sark was the limo driver? Definitely a weird way for her to convince the senator... |
This probably only mattered to me, (and I'm just being nitpicky since last night's episode was otherwise pretty entertaining) but...
They really need a science consultant on the show, before having Marshall show those microscopic images of a peripheral blood smear, saying how those "little squiggly things" were antibodies. The magnification was at most 500X. There is no way antibodies would be even close to being visible. Antibodies are very very very small proteins. Also, caffeine would NOT counteract the effect of halothane. |
Woahhh. Great episode.
Man, it keeps getting better. I have to say, I would like Will with Sydney more. He is just so cute and you can tell he cares for her so much. Please give Francie more to do. |
