Frasier

Someone bring me up to speed on Frasier. I've been slacking off, haven't watched at all this season, and now I see a preview about Niles having to "deal with something" next week -- and i'll watch -- but has anything interesting happened up to this point?

Thanks.

My question is, does anyone still watch this show?
It should have ended years ago.

calhoun07 11-08-02 06:58 PM

I stopped watching it when it went up against Smallville. Smallville is simply a better show.

Although it may of lost a step, I still think this show is still funnier than most comedies on TV. The last episode was full of Star Trek references and Frasier's speech at the end had me rolling. People should really give it another chance.

I guess nobody knows what will happen to poor Niles!

While I don't currently watch the show, I would catch up on it when they finally get around to releasing the season sets. I just hope Cheers season sets aren't far behind. How long has Frasier (the character, not the show) been on TV now? Going on 20 years? This guy is Dr. Freaking Who of the sit coms.

I just caught a few minutes of Cheers on Nickat Nite tonite that had Frasier's mom meeting Diane. At what point in the timeline did she die (and Martin come back to life as a scientist? ;) ) ?

I still watch "Frasier" almost weekly. They've had some silly shows this season, like Frasier refusing to pay at the cashier's box at a parking garage because he went in and out without actually parking and the resulting hubbub with people in line behind him.

The ads make it seem like Niles may be dealing with a health issue in this week's show.

rennervision 11-14-02 07:47 AM

If someone doesn't finally reveal what the heck happened, I'M going to have a serious health issue. -wink-

I haven't watched the show for years, but the ads for this week's episode did interest me. Unfortunately, I forgot all about it and missed what happened.

I never watch it, but I did catch a piece of the show. Apparently, he went in for an EKG, and there were abnomalities, and the doctor wanted him to go to the hospital immediately. I stopped watching then, so I don't know if anymore came of it, or if it ended there. It was the first of a three part episode I believe.

cineman 11-14-02 08:31 AM

Nothing of great significance has happened this year. It has been mostly silly, as someone else pointed out. I still like it.

Niles was informed he needs a heart bypass. He was immediately admitted to the hospital.

Next week's episode looks to be a "very special" one. Niles' life flashes before him in the hospital and he is visited by people from the past or how they were in the past.

They're not going to "kill off" Niles from the show, are they?

Imagine Frasier without Niles.....

Without Niles, the show has no purpose IMO. The antics of the Brothers Crane give the show its best aspect.

whotony 11-14-02 06:23 PM

have they changed the name of this show to NILES yet?

jhansla 11-14-02 08:31 PM

Fraiser could becoming to an end. I haven't watched this show in years and until i saw the advert the other week. Now I'm back watching it again. Starting to feel sorry for Niles as he is clearly the best character

ravan 11-15-02 03:29 AM

Last weeks show was hillarious!! Frasier did a speech for his sons bar mitzvah in klingon! rotfl rotfl

Dr. Rosenrosen 11-15-02 09:53 AM

Maybe it's the promos then that suck.

Tuesday, it's a very special Frasier. Roz is fighting a cold and Martin's hip is acting up. Did we mention that Natalie loses her virginity, Cooter's broken foot is stuck under the gas pedal, and the whole crew moves to Los Angeles?

When comedy shows start having serious episodes about Heart Attacks and Divorces (Mad about You), then its time to close up shop.
