In no particular order here are the shows I miss, the most (in recent seasons):

Education of Max Bickford
First Monday
(the prior two [2] cancellations last season almost caused me to give up watching TV)
Greg the Bunny
The Family Guy (only started watching once Fox had given it the death sentence)
MTVs Undergrads (very funny for those of us finishing college when it aired)

I have to agree with Rogue with Gina Gershon, but Snoops wasnt her best acting. I would have to vote for her role in "Cocktail" or "Face/Off". But without question she is PHAT.

Roto 11-06-02 10:49 AM

Good call on Bosom Buddies. I'd love to see that on DVD.

A few years ago there was a really good stretch of Saturday morning cartoons: The Tick, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain. I don't remember what got me to start watching them, but it was good stuff :)

I already miss Will Ferrell on SNL. I also miss Upright Citizens Brigade, but Amy Poehler can now be seen on SNL. Ooo, how cosmic! And what was with the cancellation of Strangers With Candy? Bad ratings, or just a dumb move on Comedy Central's part? That network tends to do stupid things, which leads me to my ultimate most-missed show of all...

MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000!!!

First, Comedy Central decides to axe it, and then Sci-Fi pulls the plug. In a perfect world, a show like that would never get cancelled. And now, all my old Comedy Central episodes I taped have disappeared, leaving me to the mercy of Rhino and their periodic releases. I fear there are some eps that I'll never see again, like "Monster A-Go-Go", "Teenage Zombie", the immortal Godzilla and Gamera movies, etc. Makes me sad, so sad...

Profit!! Very underrated show detailing corporate greed about six or seven years before the Enron scandal. Was just talking about it over the phone with a friend the other night.

Other shows that were cut short before their time:
  • Cupid - Jeremy Piven rules!!
  • Freaks and Geeks
  • Grosse Pointe -- hot babes!
  • Sports Night

Shows that are not showing in syndication:
  • Party of Five
  • Bosom Buddies (though it may not have had enough episodes)

OK OK, in the mood of voting and election, I did an ACTUAL count from all the replies thus far, and tally the vote. (Though not everyone is not limited to one vote, but ehh, what the hell)

Family Guy 8
X-Files 4
Titus 4
Seinfeld 5
Home Improvment 2
Batman the animated series 3
Sports Night 6
Greg the Bunny 7 -eek-
Magnum PI 2
Cupid 4
Twin Peaks 4
Dark Angel 5
Undeclared 5
Norm 2
Newsradio 4
The Flash 2
Slider 4
Animaniac 2

Not all replies are here, only one that got at least 2 or more votes. :D
Let the number speak for itself and I think thus far, The family Guy and greg the bunny are the winners!! ;)

Phil L. 11-06-02 02:29 PM

You left off Space Above and Beyond with 4.

Phil L. 11-06-02 02:48 PM

Tour of Duty was a great show.

Actually, I'd love to see the Vietnam War get a proper treatment, possibly a la Steven Spielberg.

Something along the lines of what Spielberg did for WWII in Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers type of thing for Vietnam would be fantastic I feel.

Police Squad was a very funny series that unfortunately, only lasted for six episodes.
It was inovative at the time (1982) in that it ran with no laugh track.

The shows are available on VHS. (no DVD yet I believe)
I think it was over two tapes with three episodes on each tape.

I'm sure you could find these at Amazon or where ever else you might find a large selection of VHS.
