Last year is really the first year that I don't recall seeing them...heard it had something to do with a network change from CBS to ABC in combination with 9/11 affecting primetime season premiers and fall season ratings.. As far as cartoons go, most of the classic Christmas specials have disappeared; although abc family did an ok job at running some of them last year.
to Fox for delaying the Simpsons Halloween episode until after Halloween

I'm also dissappointed in FOX as well regarding this year's Simpsons Halloween special. How could they wait til November to show it when they displace any other show for BASEBALL? Come on now! FOX ran though all the Simpsons Halloween shows in syndication last spring. They could have waited for the last week of October IMO.
