The original Forsyte Saga is the show that made PBS and Masterpeice Theatre famous, and one of the BBC's biggest hits worldwide. Now they're doing a new version of the original books, starring Rupert Graves (Room With a View, Maurice) and Ioan Gruffedd (Horatio Hornblower).

Reviews are glowing and unanimous... It appears to be a worthy heir to the original, and one of the best of these kinds of shows in ages. It's already been guaranteed a 3 season run.

Most interestingly, it debuts on American TV and on DVD in the same week! Check your PBS listings -- it starts Sunday on Masterpeice Theatre, and is being released Tuesday on disc.

I'm going to TiVo the first episode because I'm excited to see it, but I'm ordering the set as well, and will probably finish the season that way... Hope it's as good as it sounds!
