Farscape Question
Having watched only my first episode last night on DVD, I was intrugued as to whether or not the Aussie actress Claudia Black who plays the rogue(?) peacekeeper officer, has had her voice dubbed for a good reason. She sounds ridiculously English and the dubbing was not that good. Was it dubbed when screened on television? Or just for the DVD market?

Hi Terry, have you never heard Claudia before in films such as Pitch Black?
That IS her voice. I believe her parents are English and she was brought up in partly in the UK, although mostly in Australia. Why did you think she was dubbed? Sometimes on Farscape, like any other show they had to do ADR (dubbing their own words as the noise on set was too loud etc). But I never found the it noticable. |

I have seen Pitch Black but don't recall it that well. I suspect then that there is a lot of ADR because at times she was clearly shouting and her voice was barely speaking volume. Of course if there has been ADR then there will be some slight errors, and maybe the audio-synch is lightly out..oh well I have a further 21 episodes to work it out. :-) |
That is her accent. Maybe you got a bad DVD.
She did a southern accent on a recent episode. Quite funny. I love Claudia Black. I discovered the show on DVD after never having seen the show on TV and she is quite amazing in my opinion. A lot of range is there. I just finished Season 2 and the ride was a nice one. Keep watching. |
