Anyone Watch The Latin Grammy's?
First, why do the Latins have to have their own show? I thought the Grammy's were pretty much the show for music awards. Should those just be thrown out so every group can start their own tradition?
Second, why does all the latin music sound the same? Is it because they don't showcase all the different types? In typical American music, I hear country music, rock music, alternative, techno-pop, folk music, etc. But in latin music, it's the same thing over and over like and endless mariachi band. Does this show just not represent it very well? Also, why couldn't they have subtitles for the English-speaking audience at home? Did they just not care because it was a show only for the latin folks watching it? |
No.
Based on ratings it seems no one else did. |
Doesn't seem to be a great year for Latin crossover i.e. no Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony. Only 1 hit single from Enrique Iglesias and a platinum album by Shakira (:P). That would probably explain the low ratings.
