Curb Your Enthusiasm - 9/15/02

Oh, how great it is to have this show back on the air.

I must admit, I was fooled by the plot. I've gotten pretty good anticipating what they'll do, and the second Larry was chosen to select the shirt for the restaurant, I thought circumstances would lead to him buying the shirt for Ted, giving it to Ted and everyone seeing the shirt thinking it would be perfect for the waiters. As the restaurant opens, Cheryl and Larry take that lady there as a nice gesture, she sees all the waiters in the shirt and cries. Oh well ... what they did was funnier than my silly idea anyway.

Tell the next person that uses my trashcan, I'm gonna kick his ass!

That final look that he gave Ted Danson with the Bugs Bunny teeth was hilarious! Plus when his manager screamed, "It's a VEST!" for the third time, I was busting the hell up. rotfl

"So they liked the bell idea?"
"yeah, they did"
"They thought it was a good idea for everyone to be ringing bells at their tables"
"yeah, pretty much"

I don't get HBO but our Charter Cable system had a free pay channel preview this weekend and I got to see Six Feet Under (not too impressed but I've never seen it before; maybe I was just too lost), and the season premiere of The Sopranos (I'll have to wait now for the DVD to see the next twelve episodes). I was going to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm but that was all the HBO they showed, folks. :(

another great episode. Great start for the season.

I loved the part of not wanting to give Ted the shirt because then he wouldn't have the "extra for the extra".
And Ted finding out he got the one with the hole, even though there was YET ANOTHER ONE.
Then ofcourse the fight at the end.
Then the trashcan!!!

This show had me laughing all the way through it.
Love the dialogue such as Larry telling his wife they "basically liked the idea".
The dentist was great too.

This show was great throughout, and as always the last five minutes as it "all unfolds" is just priceless.

Is this show scripted or not? It has such a real-life feel to it.

This is hands down the best show on TV.

I also thought that they would use the shirt for the waiters, but I liked what they did better. Was the lady who cried on last season's episodes? Who was she?

I thought that it was funny that he mentioned how her husband died 4 months ago when they were trying to get the picture frame.

Jeff kills me the whole show kills me
Larry lying his ass off to his dentist all bloodied yammering about pears... psychotic and hilarious
I think I remember seeing that they improv alot of scenes around ideas BTW

Wow. I coulda sworn I’d heard something about the first season of CYE being released, but upon checking the release list, didn’t see it (I’m too lazy right now to go pel mel into a research binge). I myself was looking forward to renting it at least because I picked this show up on it’s second season and didn’t find out HBO was repeating the first two seasons until it was already back into the second.

If it’s released, give it a watch. I think I realized how much I loved it by the second or third episode I ever saw.

No, it's not. Larry and Jeff write a show oputline and then everyone improvises their lines. You're right, it has a different feel than any other sitcom, and that's because of the improved dialogue. There's a great article about the making of the show in this week's EW.

Does anyone know who performs the theme song and the music throughout the show?
