The new TV season: top 5 things you’re NOT looking forward to?
For me (not necessarily in order):
Pop-ups. The “bugs” are no longer an issue. Those now-innocuous little beasts have transmogrified into objectionable mini-commercials. The phenomenon does not seem to be restricted to just a network or two. My favorites this weekend, during the NASCAR races they had a box (about ¼ screen) for the “Witchblade” marathon followed by a cheerleader doing a tumbling run from left to right then holding up signs about something going on at TBS. And I remember something on Discover with some bimbo sitting in the corner waving at us. I waved back a well-known highway hand signal.
Banner ads. I noticed this weekend that, while SciFi [easy, das!] seems to be leading the way in showing widescreen stuff, they are also leading the way in making use of “them black bars.” This, of course, doesn’t stop them and other stations from defecating [] on our 4:3 programs in like manner. (I wonder. There are a coupla 16:9 shows on these days. Do folks with 16:9 TVs get the banners touting “Presented in Panasonic widescreen”?)
(Have you ever noticed that they are very careful to turn off the banners and bugs so as to not interfere with our enjoyment of the commercials?)
More Verizon commercials. Although it pains me to admit that the “Never stick your tongue out at a ferret” one gets me lmao every time.
The “Enterprise” theme song. It’s an insipid work more befitting a funeral than a ST franchise. That’s my opinion, and I’m stuck with it, along with the involuntary urge to hit the mute button when it plays. Maybe they’ll just do it as an instrumental this season? I could live with that.
Yet more reality shows. I’ve already ranted about that. ‘Nuff said.

Good answers, but nobody's said my number 1:
1) Spending way too much of my life, enraptured by that evil, evil box
2) Survivor (I will, of course, watch every episode)
3) No Family Guy
4) No Once and Again
5) Hospital dramas

1) Stupid reality shows
2) Product Placement
3) Spending too much time watching stuff when I could be out getting booty!
4) Those little bars on the bottom of the screen. Why the hell does Oxygen need a blackbar?
5) Last season of the man show! No more Juggies!

I could only come up with three:
1) Hostile, holier-than-thou "Buffy/Angel" talkbacks where dissension as to the quality of the current season is simply not tolerated.
2) The inevitable "Firefly is way better than any and all science fiction shows you've ever heard of because Joss Whedon is writing it" threads
3) The afore-mentioned popups

Not looking forward to an excellent show being axed simply because the network won't promote it enough/at all.

1. Even though Carol & Jackass might not get married, Ed and Carol STILL won't get together. (Ed)
2. The guy and girl from Good Morning, Miami probably won't get together either... that is, if the show even finishes out the season.
3. Rory and Dean will break up, and she'll end up with Ass... I mean, Jess. (Gilmore Girls)
4. CSI and CSI: Miami... hooray for overdoing a good thing (although I will probably watch both).
5. Sitting on pins and needles waiting for the next episode of 24! LIVE, Jack! Live for me!
Mostly my speculations... but I can see it all happening.
