Knockin' On THE MOLE's Door (8/6 Series Finale & Recap)

Tonight's the night. We will finally know the answer that has been bugging us since the series was pulled in October, and then re-aired at the beginning of the Summer....

Who is the mole?

There will be no poll tonight. We'll be posting our reactions anyways. In addition, later on, I will be posting the recaps to the polls.

As for the thread title, someone mentioned that Anderson will be actually unlocking the doors. Still, I decided to do a play on "Knockin' On Heaven's Door", which is both a Bob Dylan song and the title to the Cowboy Bebop movie. Enjoy..... I'll see you guys after 10 PM PT.

Spoiler:
Holy crap what a great episode that was!! Of course most of us knew that Bill was the mole and the Dorothy would win. I just love the season finales of The Mole because of the way they show how the game was sabotaged. I will post some more thoughts later...

Spoiler:
I would have liked to have seen Heather win over Dorothy.

I still wonder why Bill didn't take the opportunity to lose $100,000 for the pot?

Yay!
Spoiler:
My lame guess at the Mc Donald's meal as a clue was right!
Surprisingly enough the actual Mole only got three votes as the Mole from the reunited players tonight. Was that the big surprise?

What a terrific episode. I couldn't wait to see all the players together again... last year's group was fun and this one was just as good. Definite improvement was how they introduced the winner and the Mole behind locked doors.

Terrific recap of the games, the sabatoges, the hidden clues (which we all basically managed to figure out), and how everyone played the game.

Spoiler:
No surprise - Heather was in tears when she found out she wasn't the winner.

Now if only we can get a third season going.....

Spoiler:
Wasn't surprised that Bill was the Mole since he pretty much seemed to have all the tendencies without giving himself away. He had been my second choice since the third show. Dorothy played very smart to throw out red herrings to her fellow players, which pretty much secured the victory towards the end. She was quite saavy throughout the show, and even surprised me at times of her endurance in each round.

I could have done without those silly hidden clues like in the previous season as it only all makes sense now in retrospect.

Well I was right about the winner, but that damn Mole tricked me up.

And to AJW
Spoiler:
Katherine from last year said that she had been told to help add some money to the pot in the last game, the producers probably like the idea of a decently larged sized pot <600,000, but not too large

I was disapointed that
Spoiler:
some of the clues had been revealed to me here
but besides that I loved it.

C'mon ABC, Mole 3!!!!

One difference in this year's recap is the Mole didn't go into the deatails of how the producers worked with the Mole on sabatoges, meetings, info on the other players, etc... I kinda liked the 'behind the scenes' that Kathryn covered in Mole 1.

So this episode was taped last fall? How on earth did the players keep this info to themselves? Aside from fear of not getting paid. Heh. Poor winner had to go broke for nearly a year! Ack.

Did anyone else think the challenges for The Mole 1 were a lot more interesting and complex than this year?

I think the original was better.

Agreed. The show itself is great in concept, even better than Survivor, but the challenges blew and were extremely boring to watch. First series moved much faster.

I'm glad Dorothy won. She was basically the only player to complete the entire game. Heather pretty much quite playing 3 or 4 weeks ago.

We all knew Bill was the Mole thanks to the geeks online who watched each episode frame-by-frame.

I was a little disappointed by some of the "clues" placed throughout the series. Bill's astrological sign illuminated in the sky? come on! (though I must be an idiot to have missed all those nautical clues)

One thing I don't understand after watching this episode. Why in the world would players split their votes? It's one thing to keep your answers open at the beginning of the game but Al split his votes and he was just eliminated a couple of weeks ago. They practically doubled their odds of being elliminated. I say pick one person and go with it.

Ok, I overslept and missed the 1st half hour, I just tuned in when Anderson made the announcement of who won. What happened up until that part? Did Heather think Dorthy was the Mole, or did Dorthy just answer the questions faster?

I might be in the minority here, but a few episodes back when they had that night mission with the ball being hit, Bill said he was used to seeing Anderson in his bathrobe, but since he was dressed up, he figured it was a competition. To me, that raised a red flag, as why would he see Anderson at night in the first place?

Spoiler:
In the beginning, the executed players were sitting together, and Anderson asked each on of them their predictions for who was the mole, and who would win. He explained that behind the three doors, Dorthy, Bill, and Heather were sitting there. Then, he put a key through a slot in each door, and whichever door opened, was the winner. Anderson did the same for the Mole, and then Bill opened Heather's door. It turns out Dorthy beat Heather by just one question on the quiz.

I was irritated that it wasn't a two-hour finale. It could have been, who really needs an hour of "According to Jim" repeats? And ABC wonders why nobody watches them...

...
Both Heather and Dorothy thought Bill was the Mole. Anderson said Heather got one more question wrong than Dorothy but didn't elaborate further.

Edit - I was slightly not quick enough.

Another edit - Funny, your question lay there for almost 40 minutes and then three people answered it within three minutes, I'm sure not aware of the others answering.

Heather and Dorothy had a coalition and both had Bill as the Mole, then Dorothy won by 1 point on the quiz.

Well, it was fun being proven right. And, for Dorothy to be Heather by one questions..... wow......

Please, ABC, let there be a Mole III....

So, now that the mole has been revealed, the winner finally is able to collect the check, and the last one got eliminated, it's time to compare the polling results from the weekly polls to the actual results.

The group which the mole was part of will be bolded, and the player marked with the -M
The group which the winner was part of will be italicized, and the player marked with a -W

Well, lets see... I had Bill as a secondary mole candidate (behind Darwin) from the pool game, and he was my first choice since the dollar $Bill$ clue (which no one else mentioned around here but me). I never really suspected Dorothy or Heather at all. When it got to the end, I thought Dorothy would win. I was right. So, theres a certain double edged sword, a smug satisfaction combined with absolutely no shock and surprise (which I would actually prefer).

It was a pretty good game, but I never saw the first one. Still find Mole a little low rent and not as tense when compared to Amazing Race. Nice to see how utterly clueless the people involved were, though somehow I cant help but think it (the evicted final mole suspicions) may have been ‘tweeked’ for drama sake... except for Al, he cant act and was genuinely surprised it was Bill. But they were pretty split with the majority choosing Dorothy or Heather as the Mole and Bill being the least likely.

Anyway, depending on the night they choose to air a Mole 3, I’d watch it. Bring it on.

Al was my favorite player, even tho I picked him as the mole. LOL

Best Line was Al shouting "You bastard!"

Props to Trugator for saying Bill from the beginning and talking smack with me.

Great episode

That's really comforting, especially since Anderson would be back. If ABC knew what they were doing, they would renew it. I would imagine that if it does return, it could be a midseason replacement.

wow, i had i backwards. i thought dorothy was the mole and bill would win. some of those clues were stupid, and some of them were really ingenious. hopefully we'll have season 3 of the mole. definately a good show to have during the summer when all the reruns are on.

Here's hoping for a Mole 3.....I actually had it right this time. I was way off in the Mole 1... Thank you Bill I'm actually glad that the clues were not very easy to find. I would have been upset if they were super obvious. Great Season
