Beat The Gek guests

I was wondering if anybody knows where I might be able to get a list of all the guest geeks that have ever been on the show.

Wanna hunt down that Star Trek geek and kick his ass, eh?

I've always wondered how to find out which guest geeks will be on in the future. Is there any place to look that up? I would make a point to tune in if a really good one was on:

Simpsons
Star Trek
South Park (?)

And I've always wondered if players can choose which guest geek they will appear with. If I ever went on this show, I would demand to be on with the Simpsons geek.

The Simpsons geek would be cool but I would also check out:

Japanese Film Geek
Punk Rock Geek
and
Videogame Geek

RaraFemina 08-02-02 04:10 PM

Has there ever been a Buffy geek?

that's not a geek, that's a freak

Jadzia 08-02-02 05:53 PM

Paul Schmeltzer .... Hip Hop Geek (2001-2002)
That guy was the biggest dork. And to top it off, he didn't know anything. I remember knowing a question he was stumped on, and I don't even LIKE hip-hop.

I would like to see a Saturday Night Live geek.

They *really* need a British Comedy Geek or, at the very least, a Monty Python Geek.

They've really dropped the ball on this one. Hip Hop Geek? CAN there be such a thing?

Never missing a chance to plug :), I have to remind everyone that Horror Geek Mike Bracken is one of our writers over at www.culturedose.com. The man definitely knows his stuff (his horror reviews are easily some of the best in the genre) and he pulls double duty as our movie editor as well.

He actually appears on the 2nd season of the show though I guess his episodes haven't aired yet (I normally don't get home in time to watch the show).

I totally support the Brit Com geek, tho I think a BBC Geek or a British TV geek would be better, and give a wider range of topics to cover in the questions.

As for other geeks that could be on the show, how about an Olson Twins Geek? Now that would be scary! Or a Smufs Geek? Teletubbies Geek? Barney Geek? Or maybe a Tom Green Geek? Ok, ok, I am stopping now, I am beginning to scare even myself with some of those ideas!

One more question, tho, regarding the "Comic Book Geek." Did they ever actually ask questions about COMIC BOOKS when this guy was on? I didn't see every episode with him, but the ones I saw, they were asking him questions about movies based on comic books. Close, but no cigar in my book.

Jason Northrup 08-03-02 04:46 PM

Personally, I'd love to see a Back to the Future geeek.

Apocrypha 08-03-02 06:02 PM

I know this is obvious but where is the DVD GEEK!

jarofclay73 08-04-02 01:01 AM

What about that Battlefield Earth geek from the Conan O'Brien show? ;)

Crazy Aoshi 08-04-02 02:29 AM

They should have anime and wrestling geeks.

And a master control operator geek...ok, maybe not.

nightwing82 08-04-02 03:10 PM

they have to have geeks about stuff a lot of people know stuff about. for example, when the toy geek was on ... didn't he rarely get challenged?

I remember a question or two about the Red Skull and members of the Fantastic Four, but yeah, his questions mostly tied into films. Disappointing.

I think a Lord of the Rings Geek would be appropriate these days.

Someone who knows a great deal about hip-hop?

Pants 08-13-02 03:05 PM

The writers on this show are horible. They don't know how to write questions, and the questions that end up getting asked are always disapointing. I don't think the writers know anything about the subject they are writing questions for. I think they just do research on the net and write the questions from FAQ's or something.

When the Star Wars geek was on all they asked were questions about Episode I. This show is great concept and crap execution.

AgtFox 08-13-02 03:46 PM

I have a slight problem with things such as a South Park Geek and a Sopranos Geek. I love both series, but they are both relaitively infantile in years against such broad things as Comic Books, Movies, TV, etc. I would just have a problem with those Geeks even being on the show. SP Geek is just there because SP is owned by Comedy Central.

Maybe I'm the only one with this problem...

Goldberg74 08-13-02 05:35 PM

No, what we need is to nominate someone from the "Otter Farm" as the official "DVD Talk Other Forum Geek" (... maybe I'll go over there and start a nominations thread...)

Whoops, this is TV Talk... my bad...

Corleone 08-13-02 11:25 PM

wasn't the Star Trek geek... the same geek that was in Trekkies the Movie...?

cdollaz 08-14-02 10:03 AM

Star Trek geek (yes, the one from Trekkies) vs. the Playboy geek for biggest dork of all time. Who wins?
