I'm a Happy Days fan. I've always wondered about something.
1.What happened to Richie's & Joanie's older brother Chuck?
2.What happened to their old house? It didn't have a room over the garage until ep.40.

I don't know about the spin-offs or what happened to Chuck, but Ted McGinley is the death of every tv series in which he's appeared.

not necessarily. he was on Married with Children for at least 4 years. He wasn't the death of that show, it's age was.

I kind of wish the original show had made it, but then I'm a big fan of Harold Gould.

Chuck is the big mystery. I believe Tom Bosley killed him and put the body in a GLAD brand trash bag. Don't get mad, get GLAD!

I just saw the final episode earlier this week (where Joanie and Chachi get married). Howard makes a speech at the end and says something to the effect of "now that our two kids are grown up and married...". They don't even acknowledge that Chuck was ever on the show.

My theory is Chuck got shipped to Korea, where he died at the bumbling hands of Frank Burns. Hawkeye made a maudlin joke about it.

I always wondered about Chuck. Why didn't they just say he got married and moved away, rather than pretending he never existed?

adamblast 07-31-02 10:25 AM

At what point do you think this show jumped the shark? :D

Steve Phillips 07-31-02 02:19 PM

The other ridiculous thing about this show was that in the last 2-3 seasons, it was like they forgot the show took place in the past. Everyone dressed like it was 1981-84; worse 80's hairstyles, etc. They really should have ended it when Ron Howard left.

The show started in Jan 1974 and was set in 1956. So, if it ran for 10.5 years; the final season would have taken place in 1966! It's now been 18 years since it left the air, so a reunion movie made now would take place in 1984; the present day when the series ended. Funny

actually.. i always thought that was what happened. he went of to college, was probably drafted and then KIA. which is kinda why Richie followed and joined the military.

Except that the Korean war ended in 1953, and "Happy Days" was set in 1956 when it started. Oh well, I guess he could have been killed in a peace time accident while in the military.

Maybe he time traveled into the future like Mork traveled into the past therefore creating an alternate timeline where he didnt even exisit.

The last few years after Richie left and they made Jennie Picallo and Joannie and Chachi major characters...sucked.

Sit on it!
