MDs (New ABC Show)

Is it just me, or does this show pretty much look exactly like Article 99 (without the personalities of McGinley and Liotta)?

Is Scrubs about two renegade doctors who organize unique and elaborate operating procedures to trick out an establishment that's trying to cut costs and prevent them from operating on needing patients?

I think the show looks interesting....if only for the two leads whom I think could make for a good show.

This season seems to be the one where they gave up on original ideas.

Does CBS have a non cop/crime show coming out next season.
We have a pair of shows that take place in a TV show setting.
A pair with the exact same concept....going back to your high school days.

Sorry about the rant....didn't want to make a new thread.

the few promos i have seen of this pique my curiosity, although IIRC this show is on wednesday so that means unless it is on at 9 CST then i won't be watching it because of ed and the west wing.

An ABC hospital show with doctors who do things there own way.....oh wait, I already fell in love with Gideon's Crossing and AC cancelled that.

Why don't they ever cancel the shows I don't like.

I've never heard of Article 99, but this show seems like a real snoozer. I'm not much for the "hospitals are run by evil people who only care about the bottom line, and we are 2 very moral doctors who are willing to risk their careers to save patients because that is what doctors are supposed to do" plotlines that are supposed to make me feel good. Give me an ER style Romano any day, over these ideologues. Maybe TV needs a good hospital drama now that ER is lagging, but I don't think this is the answer.

P.S. If by McGinley, you meant Ted McGinley, then he probably caused the show to be canceled before i ever had a chance to hear about it.

I just chickened out of that ReplayTV upgrade. I don't know what to do since there's more shows than hours

Hey GatorDeb, good to see you over here

I've yet to upgrade my Replay 4k as I don't really need the extra room during re-run season. Ugrading my old Replay 3020 was easy though. Talking about Replay in this thread probably isn't the nicest way to hijack this thread.

To get slightly back on topic: I am praying that Ted McGinley makes a guest starring appearance on every show that ABC puts out from now until the end of time. I'll never be able to forgive what ABC (or maybe it was what the Ted McGinley curse) did to Sports Night. Even if I end up really liking MDs, ABC will probably find a way to cancel the show in mid-season. And if I end up hating MDs, ABC will find a way to cancel Alias and use MDs as a replacement.

ABC.... No matter what they do with their show's we'll Always Be sCrewed.

I love Ted McGinley, but I meant John C., who starred in the film.

I'm amazed how few people seem to have seen Article 99. Not only is it jam-packed with stars, but it's pretty darn good too. The promos make it look exactly like the film, including many of the brief scenes we see. The only difference appears that Article 99 was in a veteran's hospital, while mds is Mission General in San Francisco.

Anyway, I'm not sure I'm ready for yet another medical drama.
