Any cross-network airings in your area?

I noticed a coupla strange things on my local stations last weekend.

I’m noticing episodes of Buffy on the local Fox station.

On Fox an episode of Stargate SG-1 aired and several hours later the same episode aired on UPN.

This stuff happens on Sunday, but I don’t see what that has anything to do with it. Granted, there’s no “network” programming going on, but still it seems odd to me.

Yeah! Fox has the WB now at 9pm CT. Last night, The Mole was moved from Channel 5, (my usual ABC Channel) to channel 8, (an information channel). I think that one was because they had the MISS TEXAS TEEN pagent on or something.

Fox/UPN cross-network airing is quite common in areas that aren't served by both of the smaller networks.

As for the Buffy episode on Fox, it might have been the syndicated version of Buffy which usually airs late night on weekends.

Our Fox starts showing UPN programs at 11pm. Thanks, UPN, for not broadcasting in my area!

I saw Raymond on NBC last night (in Prime time). I thought that was a CBS show.

Perhaps. But I don't think that applies in the Los Angeles area...

You're prolly right about the Buffy syndication thing. I hadn't thought of that.

My FOX and UPN affiliates often share some of their syndicated programs. Nothing too interesting, those dating shows and reruns of sitcoms and such. I figured it makes sense since they are both owned by the same company.

The news people at FOX also have short news and weather updates every now and then on UPN too.

Yeah, that's what they used to do here in Syracuse.

Although UPN also aired WB programming (mostly on weekends or late night) before we got our own WB station too.

When I was a little kid, I remember going through southern Idaho on the way to Yellowstone and we stayed at a motel in some town and there was --get this-- ONE TV station! It carried the most popular programs from NBC, CBS and ABC. This was in 1968 I think. Times sure have changed haven't they?
