Now I know why I hate watching movies on commercial television...
the number of commercial breaks during the ABC presentation of "Pleasantville" was downright frustrating.

Also, ABC thought that black and white would be confusing for television audiences, so they colorized some of the scenes!

between editing and commercials, why bother?
ABC is a major offender though...was it really necessary to edit/ edit scenes with CGI in James Bond movies?

It's strange. They're going to show it in widescreen, but colorize part of it...

They're doing that on (whoever is showing) The Wizard of Oz for the part before Dorothy gets to Oz.

ABC decided that "Diamonds are Forever" was too racy.
In a scene where Plenty O'Toole's naked back(!!) is showing they digitally inserted a bra strap.
I guess they did that as to not tramatize small children whose mommy wont let them see a naked female back.

I think Sci-Fi channel is the worst, couple months ago I watched a movie on there and there was 9-11 minutes of movie and then 3-4 minutes of commercials (yeah I timed it cause I couldn't believe there was that many commercials)

Any more, if you're interested in seeing a movie, and have never seen it before, catch it on "pay" or DVD. NEVER watch it on broadcast unless you just want it on for background.

You know, I was watching "SILENCE OF THE LAMBS" the other day on SHOWTIME and I'm 98% sure they edited parts out.
Here's the scene I think they cut up.
When Clarice was looking at the dead girl on the table, I could've sworn there was a part where she looked at the girl and her eyes were looking at Clarice after they had turned her over. It wasn't in the movie on SHOWTIME.

Hey, now, some of the edits are out right funny. Like when Blue Velvet was on Bravo...."I'LL FREAK ANYTHING THAT MOVES!!!" LOL, that was good stuff. I couldn't bring myself to watch it, but that was quite laughable.
Like wise with movies like There's Something About Mary and American Pie on FOX. The "hair gel" scene on TSAM on TV is horribly edited that it actually makes it funny but for a different reason. Likewise with American Pie. Sometimes the edits themselves can elicit good laughs.
Personally, I cant' wait to see the broadcast premier of Me, Myself, and Irene.
