A Message to those B5 fans who have showtime from JMS (About Jeremiah)

This was posted a little while ago on the B5 newsgroup

To all b5 fans,

Okay, so here's the deal. There are now three episodes remaining of Jeremiah's
first season, "A Means to an End," by Sara Barnes, and the two part "Things
Left Unsaid" by yr obdnt srvnt.

The first is a quieter, more personal story but also sets up what's going to
happen in the two-parter, and the latter (directed by Mike Vejar, our good luck
charm on B5 who did our best episodes) is pretty much nonstop intensity and
action and character stuff end to end.

Though we're already doing well, it would be great to go out on a real bang
ratings wise, so I'm going to try an experiement. If every B5 viewer who sees
this can get the word to every other viewer who gets Showtime normally (I
wouldn't sign up just for this, that's fiscally imprudent) to watch the next
three episodes, that would be terrific. I think that would be sufficient to
kick us over the edge into a sure renewal for year two.

And they're fun episodes on their own rights, even if you haven't seen the show
before. Though "Means" is, again, a quieter episode, there's one scene in it
that will have just about any SF fan worth his/her salt rolling on the floor.
I can pretty much guarantee you it's something you haven't seen before.

As for "Things Left Unsaid," of all the things I've written and produced, this
may be the best thing I've ever been involved with, from a production
standpoint and much of the writing. We kind of got pulled back a bit after the
events of 9/11 put a damper on the television business in terms of the kinds of
stories one can tell, but we really got this puppy back up on the rails again
with the two parter, which is emblematic of what we'll do in a second year.

Anyway...just a call out from here to B5 fandom, to see if it's still there, so
we can get together one more time on a biggie.

Thanks.

jms

If you consider yourself a B5 fan and have not made the effort to watch this show, I think you may need to re-evaluate some things. Some people cannot afford Showtime, and that's perfectly understandable, but to have the channel and not watch it is pretty weak. However, if there are people like that out there who haven't given the show a chance, they must know what jms and Co. are capable of, and they should definitely get on board. I think it would be a serious misstep for Showtime to drop this show, but on the off chance they are that stupid, it couldn't hurt to have extra viewers.

There are two kinds of people in this world: Babylon 5 fans and future Babylon 5 fans. As such, this message applies to all of you. Give it a shot. You may be surpised how well Perry and Jamal-Warner carry the show.

You are totally right Das. I wasnt a B5 fan till Jan last year. Watched it run on sci-fi, watched crusade, the miniseries, read the books and so on. I love the b5 universe. I have become a JMS fan as well. I love his work on Spider-man comics, as well as some other tv work he has done , as well as Jeremiah. You should all check it out if you have showtime or can afford it

Count me in as a long time B5 fan who purchased showtime for the first time several months ago just so I could watch jeremiah. It's been worth the $12 per month since March. I'm happy to see that it's been so well received thus far, and I'd LOVE several more seasons of it - so please watch it, everyone!

Damn I wish I had Showtime, I'd be all over this. Wonder how much extra my satellite bill would be if I add Showtime for a few days?

well they do have a rebate thing going if you get showtime. Go to sho.com for details. Plus the new show Odyssey 5 just started so you can watch that also :-) If they ask what made you get showtime just say "Jeremiah"

Don't forget The Chris Issak Show. You don't have to like his music to appreciate this offbeat comedy. Odyssey 5 surprisingly isn't that bad either. Lots of interesting stuff going on over at Showtime and worth the monthly fee IMO.
