According to this post
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/1_Spor.../message/14686 ABC will be announcing soon that the entire series of Sports Night, as well as the first seasons of Once and Again and Felicity will be released on DVD November 5th. |
Glad I clicked on this thread.

Two of ABC's best shows ever produced, both cancelled before their time due to absolute stupidity on numerous levels. Glad they realize there's a market for them (assuming not a hoax).

Oh man, don't hate ABC, they put the food on the table (well, sort of). I have to watch them for a living, mostly entertainment tonight and hollywood squares, plus whatever they throw on after that. Yay network!

I have almost the entire series on VHS although it's pretty disjointed. I think I started somewhere in the middle of the 1st season and got f'd by Comedy Central when they switched to 4 nights again this week as opposed to 2x a week for a month. Ended up getting the 1st part of Draft Day but not the eps after it. I know it was Bells and a Siren yesterday morning. I haven't seen what was on this morning.
I really hope the DVD rumor is true. Same goes for Once & Again and Felicity. Love those shows. |
the first 10 episodes or so was some of the best television that i have ever seen. the episode where dan had writer's block and natalie was trying to help him out with getting rid of it...rotflrotflrtofl
|
my favorite episodes have been the 2 part draft day episode where Jeremy is trying to date the porn star, & the ones with William H Macy were excellent too

Everything about that show (except that damn_laugh track the monterous evil bastards at ABC (Anthing But Class) made them add) kicked so much ass. das |
Thankfully, ABC wised up and took the laugh track out after a few episodes.

That scene is hysterical. Natalie rocks.
My other favorite conference room scene is the one in which Isaac confronts everyone who keeps whispering that he's leaving. "I told many, *many* people." I've been capturing and rendering SVCDs of this show for the last couple months off the Comedy Central reruns, but I'll gladly plunk down the cash for a DVD release. This is one of my all-time top 5 shows. |

This is one of my all-time top 5 shows. Dana: I only told Natalie. She's my assistant. Natalie: I only told Jeremy. He's my boyfriend. Jeremy: I told many, many, people. How about Shoe Money Tonight. Poor Jeremy never had a chance. :) I too have them all on VHS and VCD (no S ... care to share? :)) and would gladly drop whatever it costs for the DVDs. Television just doesn't get much better. das |
What pisses me off is that shows that went stale after a year, like Dharma and Greg kept getting renewed while shows like Sport Night was summarily dismissed without getting a fair shot. Sigh...
But Peter Krause went on to do Six Feet Under, and Josh Charles went out with Jennifer Connelly for a few years (how is a mystery to me, but what a lucky dude). Felicity Huffman went on to have a few kids, but I could have sworn I saw her in the promo ads for "Girls Club" the upcoming David E. Kelley show on Fox with young lady lawyers. |

The way she looked in that episode in which everyone was going to a party that Luther Sachs (or whatever) was throwing, and there was this big debate about who was riding with who, and at the very end, Dana walks by Casey in a GREAT dress and says, "I forgot my purse"... and Casey does this GREAT pratfall, and Dan walks by and casually says, "On your feet, soldier," and Casey pops back up into frame just looking shell-shocked by Dana's good looks... hee hee. :) Can you tell that I love this show? Its characters still had so many places to go... and it was cut down in the prime of its life. *sigh* Oh well... just a TV show. But a damn fine one. |
Just a reminder that this is gonna start over again tomorrow morning at 3:30AM.
I personally love "The Cut Man Cometh" episode esp. the scene with Casey/Jeremy/Natalie involving zsa zsa gabor and ava gardner. Great dialogue. |

It's official!
'Once,' 'Sports,' 'Felicity' Get New Life on DVD For the ultra lazy: HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Less than a week after Fox announced it would bring last season's innovative drama "24" to DVD with unprecedented speed on Sept. 17, Disney said it would release the full seasons of acclaimed-but-short-lived ABC series "Once and Again" and "Sports Night," as well as "Felicity," all on Nov. 5. Both "Felicity," which aired on the WB, and "Sports Night" were produced by the TV arm of Imagine Entertainment, which was based at Disney at the time. "Once and Again" was canceled last season after moving around the ABC primetime schedule for several seasons in an effort to expand on its small but passionate audience. Each boxed set will be priced at $79.99. The "Felicity" and "Once and Again" sets include the first season and pilot episodes. The "Sports Night" set includes all episodes from the series. |
Hmmmm....if we can get that around $55 buck retail it will be almost impossible to resist.
Then I'll have to scrounge around my empty wallet to pony up for the Once and Again and Felicity sets. Some damn good TV shows coming up that day. |
I'd probably be buying the Sports Night Box set even if it was $200. It's the best television show that I've seen in my short lifetime. Now if only they'd release The West Wing on region 1 DVD...

Hot diggity! If it takes selling my body on the street, I'll make sure I have enough money for this (well, who cares about Felicity). This is wonderful news!

this is gonna be soooo great!! woo hoo!!
