Who is THE MOLE? (6/4)

First off, I hope I came up with a good quiz this week. I trust you were watching.

It was nice to finally see the fourth episode after eight months of waiting. Who thought that being a good samaritan would net them $30k?

It was obvious that patrick wasnt mole. I also think that anyone had hate towards patrick isnt the mole.. My two suspects are Darwin so far cause he's the only one that speaks french he he.

Katie for the dumb one routine. I just started watching now. Glad to see the show back on the air. I forgot was it katie with the bible? or was it some type of cow?

I'm sticking with Alavia as the mole, although whatsername's coming up with 90 in the riddles game was very odd. Still, it would seem too obvious a thing to do for the mole. Maybe she said 90 earlier and was just throwing that out again and the editing made it look like she just came up with it off the top of her head. Not sure.

Good quiz except, isn't the only one who didn't fight either Little Jane or Little John Brandon (I think that's his name)? He wasn't in the smart group or the dumb group, so "Did not play and neither" is the only one needed among the "neithers." Or am I misremembering? Where's my damn journal?

Maybe. I had to revise the quiz because of an obvious error.

The last few people who had their name typed in to the computer this episode, I can't imagine being the mole. The longer that went on, I thought for sure the next person was screwed 3 different times, and each of them were clearly terrified. Of course I believe this includes Darwin and Katie, who I had the greatest suspicion of. There was someone else at the end I thought was about to pick up their bags they looked so defeated, but I can't remember who.

I'm going to revert back to my initial thought that the mole is Bill simply because he is the polar opposite of the mole from the first season

Some of the other players said the same thing - that Dorothys 2 answers in the brainteasers made her look very suspicious. Isn't the moles job to sabotage the missions? How would her getting 2 right, and making them extra $$ make her suspicious of being the mole? If she was the mole she'd want to not help out/correct the other peoples mistakes at all. Or am I misintepretting the whole point of the mole's actual role on the show?

I swear to the moon that they already played the 4th episode last time. And I also swear to the moon that I thought it was Bribbs who went bye bye. Because for the whole time it was off the air, I kept wondering who would be taking care of Bribbs' "The Mole" powder stuff that he brought with him. I cant wait for next weeks episode.

This was the first showing of the fourth episode. After watching all four, I still maintain that Darwin is the Mole. (It's evolutionary, my dear Watson!)

Last night was his most obvious attempt to sabotage the game: he was clearly the best rappeller of the bunch, but somehow he got his thumb caught in the "thing" and was only able to answer two questions...only one of which he got right (the question which he just happened to be the only one of the first four rappellers to see).

After that game the producers showed clips of people complaining about all the other players that missed questions…but showed nobody complaining about Darwin? Hmm…makes you wonder.

Here’s hoping Al wins the game. He seems like a straight-up guy. I’d be VERY surprised if he turned out to be the mole.

How is the show doing in the ratings this time around? I'd love to see a Mole 3!

Annoying doesn't begin to describe it. She's bitching and moaning when she was duped to go to the other hotel room in the middle of the night, etc... Hell, forget the phone call. Rolling a biscuit down the hallway would have done the trick.

What happened to Katie's thumb? It was in a cast, but they never showed what happened.

That's true, but sometimes the mole will go out of his/her way to help the group win money simply to throw contestants off the trail. In this case, Dorothy helped them win money but did it in what appeared to be a suspicious way, which makes me think it was perhaps creative editing or just simple dumb luck. I can't imagine the mole would have made herself that obvious.

I believe it's always been in a cast...so she broke it before the show started.

As for Dorothy "suddenly" knowing the answer it's possible that she figured out the answer, but kept it to herself until the last possible second. Why would somebody who wasn't the Mole do such a thing, you ask? 1. Makes people think she's the Mole, 2. Still wins the money, and 3. Still wins her immunity. Very savvy move on her part...I think Dorothy is a lot more sly than she lets on.

If dorothy was the mole, wouldn't she want to have both the 'smart' and 'dumb' groups be eligible for execution?

After her 'smart' group got one correct answer the 'dumb' group is out of the running. So, if she was the mole, she could have sabotaged any one of the next four teaser answers, meaning the 'smart' group could be executed.

Right now I'm in between Spiky Blonde boy, or Bible-thumpin' Heather.

Dorthy's last minute save was pretty strange... too strange. I think either it was a devious plan or huge coincidence. If Mole editors/producers are anything like Burnett productions they know to throw out plenty of red herrings like play up all the finger pointing that has gone towards her.

Darwin is the Mole. That is what my insticts and general reasoning are telling me so far. And I also belive that zitlike abrasion on his cheek is a secret ABC transmitter.

BTW, for those who missed Season 1 here are some facts about the "Mole."

1. The Mole is a contestant, not an actor or actress. He or she is chosen from the final set of contestants (no idea if this done randomly or what).

2. The Mole is given advance knowledge about many, but not all, of the games and challenges that are coming. Occasionally he or she will even get special equipment to help sabotage the games.

3. Anderson Cooper does not know who the Mole is.

At the end of season one they gave a list of the "clues" to the Moles identity that had supposed appeared throughout the game. Turned out all the clues were meaningless coincidences and not of any use at all. I don't know if that's the case with the game this time...but I haven't seen anything resembling a clue.

Here are my thoughts on Darwin. There were 2 subtle things he did which were a bit shady, but 2 other opportunities he missed if he was really the mole.

Mole-like things he did:
1. When he got called to Dorothy/Lisa's room in the 'do not leave your room' contest, he went to the front desk instead of to their room. Could have been a mistake, but he could have done this on purpose to try to screw something up (although it didn't matter after all, maybe he didn't know what was going on).

2. In the 'dress up' contest, he took his headgear off because he was frustrated which cost them some money.

Mole-like things he should have done:
1. In the log game, it would have been easy to purposely lose and make it seem like an accident.

2. In the first game, he was on the leader team which chose which missions would be worth the $. If he really was the mole, I would have thought he'd have pushed to have the swinging event worth some money, as that is the one that gave the exemption. Instead they got max points that round.

I don't think he purposely got his hand stuck in the repelling incident. He could have gotten his hand seriously hurt if he got it stuck in there the wrong way, so I don't think it was intentional. It didn't really matter anyways, as all he had to do was stay up and give some wrong answers. Ages are tough to remember, I don't even remember how old my parents are, so you can't really fault him for that.

I seriously don't think Katie is the mole. If she is, she's doing an outstanding job. The only thing that leads me to think she's the mole was at the very start of the 4th episode... Rob (spiky blond magician) says in his "confessional booth" that "The thing that drives me mad about the mole is that he'll lie... he'll lie right to your face." And the very next "confessional" was... Katie, saying that she had no problem lying to people!

Agreed that the Mole 1 "clues" were just random bunk. You could make ANYTHING into a possible clue, so I don't see any point in looking for clues right now. But... I can't help it!

I thought the wording of "Are you ready for another helping? STOP." and how that played out was very clever. The name of the game... the "Morality Game"... was kind of blah, but other than that, I liked it.

They showed flash backs to the Casino night thing and she didn't have a cast on it then, I assume she did something to it when she fell off the log, its the only instance I can think of.

Ooh, one more thing... sorry to bring up the Television Without Pity forum again, but there is a thread about "Mole clues" over there that has picked out some really interesting information that may point to the identity of The Mole.

One of the neatest ones... remember the telegram? There was a phone number at the bottom of the telegram. I don't know if they do this in Europe, but in the States, we all have letters that correspond to each number. If you decode the phone number, substituting each number for a letter (not counting 0's, since 0 doesn't correspond to any letters) one of the possible message you get is:

Cool, eh? If you want to read into it more, the two pairs of zeros even frame Bill's name.

Elavia has always seemed like a candidate, and her getting the answer wrong on the repelling game seems suspect. She was the one that didn't swing....of all the games, thats the one I clearly remember the outcome of, and you'd think she would to because it was the first and she got an exemption.

But the second half of the episode had me thinking Dorothy. The fact that she came up with the answers so fast....I dunno, fishy. Some people already suspect her, so she may have just been throwing them off her scent.

But as usual, I'm still just guessing.

That telegram clue is pretty compelling...no way it's a coincidence. I still think Darwin's the Mole however, and that the telegram is a red herring. Patrick examined it carefully, and chances are that he found the clue. If so, then he probably put all his answers in the quiz towards Bill. The nature of the game is that if you put 100% of your quiz votes towards the wrong person, chances are that you'll be executed...which is exactly what happened.
