Season End TV Ratings
USA Today list
Sad to see Alias and 24 so far down in the ratings. They were the only two shows I started watching this year and stuck with. Hopefully, they'll do better next year. |
I watch way to much TV. Here's the one's that made the list that I watch. :D
1 Friends 2 CSI 3 ER 6 Everybody Loves Raymond 7 Law & Order 9 Will & Grace 12 Leap of Faith* 13 Becker 14 Law & Order: SVU 15 Inside Schwartz* 16 Frasier 20 Just Shoot Me 21 The King Of Queens 21 Yes, Dear 25 Malcolm in the Middle 26 The Practice 26 Baby Bob 28 Crossing Jordan 30 The Simpsons 31 NYPD Blue 34 Law & Order: Criminal Intent 38 Third Watch 38 Scrubs 41 My Wife and Kids 42 Boston Public 44 Family Law* 47 Millionaire 49 The District 55 According to Jim 57 Philly* 60 Alias 63 Bernie Mac Show 65 Ally McBeal* 65 Weakest Link — Sunday 67 Drew Carey Show 67 That '70s Show 70 George Lopez 76 24 78 Spin City 82 Dharma & Greg* 82 Citizen Baines* 85 First Monday* 89 Titus* 90 King of the Hill 91 Andy Richter Controls the Universe 91 Greg the Bunny* 93 Undeclared* 93 Thieves* 93 The Job* 96 Grounded for Life 101 7th Heaven 103 That's Life* 104 American Embassy* 104 Emeril* 104 That '80s Show 114 Dark Angel* 115 Smallville 121 Gilmore Girls 124 Buffy the Vampire Slayer 125 Family Guy* 127 Angel 129 Reba 129 Charmed 133 Pasadena* 134 Dawson's Creek 139 Felicity* 140 Sabrina, the Teenage Witch 141 Raising Dad * 141 Maybe It's Me* 153 Nikki* 155 Off Centre 157 For Your Love* |
Not as much tv as I think i watch, I guess there are other shows out there I watch regularly that are no on the big 6
1 Friends NBC 24.5 2 CSI CBS 23.7 3 ER NBC 22.1 9 Will & Grace NBC 17.3 16 Frasier NBC 15.0 20 Just Shoot Me NBC 14.4 49 Amazing Race 2 CBS 10.3 57 Philly* ABC 9.9 73 Amazing Race CBS 8.8 91 Andy Richter Controls the Universe FOX 7.4 |
Is Andy Richter coming back next season? I watched this show for the first time this week and it was hilarious! Sorry, if I took this off-topic. :o
|
I must need to watch more TV. I only watch 16 of the top 100 regularly, 7 of which will probably not be coming back.
1 Friends 9 Will & Grace 20 Just Shoot Me 24 Fear Factor 25 Malcolm in the Middle 30 The Simpsons 55 Watching Ellie 67 Drew Carey Show 67 The X-Files 90 King of the Hill 91 Andy Richter Controls the Universe 91 Greg the Bunny 93 Undeclared 115 Futurama 125 Tick 127 Angel |
Hmmm... interesting to see how these shows did. I was suprised to see Alias so low. Hopefully, it'll pick up more viewers in season 2. Here are the ones that I watch regularly:
1 Friends 3 ER 7 Law & Order 10 The West Wing 26 The Practice 30 The Simpsons 31 NYPD Blue 60 Alias 90 King of the Hill 91 Greg the Bunny* 115 Futurama 115 Enterprise 125 Family Guy* I watched the first 6-7 episodes of 24 before giving up, and I caught occasional episodes of X-Files. I had been slowly giving up on X-Files since season 7 or so… ABC putting Alias on opposite pretty much sealed its fate with me. This coming season, I think I may be dropping The Practice and Enterprise (we’ll see). I’m debating CSI – I’ve never seen an episode, but I keep hearing great things. |
1 Friends NBC 24.5
2 CSI CBS 23.7 3 ER NBC 22.1 4 Survivor: Marquesas CBS 20.8 5 Survivor: Africa CBS 20.7 6 Everybody Loves Raymond CBS 20.0 7 Law & Order NBC 18.7 8 Friends — 8:30 p.m. NBC 18.6 9 Will & Grace NBC 17.3 10 The West Wing NBC 17.2 11 Monday Night Football ABC 17.0 12 Leap of Faith* NBC 16.5 13 Becker CBS 16.3 14 Law & Order: SVU NBC 15.2 15 Inside Schwartz* NBC 15.1 so what does NBC even need new shows for? the rerun of Friends came out 8 overall, thats above 12 and 15 which were both cancelled. only thing is that the rerun of friends probably costs NBC more than the other new shows...they pay each person 500k/first rerun or something like that |
7. Law & Order (I hope this show is #1 one day)
10. The West Wing 14. Law & Order: SVU (I'm happy more people are watching this) 42. Boston Public 58. Ed 60. Alias (this show will be in the top 30 next season) 67. The X-Files* (I'm glad it's finally over) 76. 24 77. UC:Undercover* :( 115. Enterprise 121. Gilmore Girls My question is: why are some networks willing to stay with lower ranked shows and other networks aren't? For example, NBC canceled UC:Undercover which was ranked just below 24. Granted, UC didn't have the buzz 24 did (and the show wasn't quite as good) but still other networks stuck with shows ranked much lower. |
1 Friends NBC 24.5 (probably only 2/3 of the episodes though)
4 Survivor: Marquesas CBS 20.8 5 Survivor: Africa CBS 20.7 7 Law & Order NBC 18.7 10 The West Wing NBC 17.2 11 Monday Night Football ABC 17.0 15 Inside Schwartz* NBC 15.1 21 The King Of Queens CBS 13.9 31 NYPD Blue ABC 12.3 31 Fox NFL Sunday-Post Game FOX 12.3 42 Boston Public FOX 10.8 44 The Bachelor ABC 10.7 57 Philly* ABC 9.9 67 That '70s Show FOX 9.1 85 Cops 2 FOX 8.0 85 First Monday* CBS 8.0 89 Titus* FOX 7.9 91 Andy Richter Controls the Universe FOX 7.4 93 Undeclared* FOX 7.3 99 Cops FOX 7.1 104 That '80s Show FOX 6.8 115 Enterprise UPN 5.9 119 Temptation Island 2* FOX 5.7 Note that I plan on catching all the re-runs of CSI and The Agency this summer. |

That has to do with the following questions: Is it holding the lead-in audience? How does it do in the 18-49 demographics? Did it improve as the season went on? What caliber of network are you talking about (NBC or UPN?)? Is it owned by the network? How much does the network pay for it? What night is it on? Is it winning its timeslot? For example, look at FOX. Cops basically gets the same ratings as Titus and Undeclared. Cops gets renewed. However, it is on a Saturday night (much lower viewership night) so that rating looks much better when compared with shows that draw the same rating on a high-viewership night (midweek). It is very cheap for FOX. FOX owns it. It does very well with 20-somethings (I presume). |
How can Dawson's Creek be coming back next season?

My list (a few others I'd watch occasionally, but not on a regular basis):

How can That 80's Show be coming back
|
i think fox said That '80s show was canceled...dont know why its not indicated as so on the list
|
Holy s**t! ANGEL is my favorite show. I can't believe how much it sucks in the ratings. DAMN! Im surprised it lasted 3 seasons! OMG. It was beaten by That 80's Show and The Ellen Show. HAHAHAHAHA! That's pathetic.
Where is FUTURAMA on that list? |
i don't watch a lot of tv, but i make sure to catch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Futurama and the Simpsons. Futurama isn't offically cancelled, but fox stopped ordering episodes, so after the thirty episodes left in the can, that's it for the funniest animated series on tv (i like simpsons, but it's only a shadow of its former self). i loved Undeclared, but fox cancelled it!
