Road Rules v. Real World finale

Wasn't it great that Chadwick and Holly ended up with NOTHING!?!?!

Especially after the offer to spilt from Coral.

I believe Chad had a deal and Holly/Coral were the only independent ones.

I LOVE how Mike was the savior for his team... after all the times he felt he let others down, and even banged his head into a pole over it, he came through when it mattered.

B.A. 05-20-02 09:58 PM

it was indeed very satisfying to see holly "learn how to lose"

Da Thrilla 05-20-02 11:27 PM

So what all happened? My roomate deleted it from the Tivo before I could watch it...

madcougar 05-20-02 11:44 PM

Bump! Cuz I wanna know too!

briank 05-21-02 07:16 AM

The whole show was the final challenge.

Everyone had a deal with another member from the other side (most agreed the other would get something like $7,500 if they lost).
Only Coral and Holly (Chadwick's wife) didn't have a dea, and that was because Holly didn't want one. (which is funny because early on in the season Chadwick/Holly thought they'd be bringing home $100,000 between them and they brought NOTHING!).

There were 4 legs to the final challenge, all physical except for one "mind puzzle".
First leg: they had to kayak out to a float and untie plastic fish (the whole point through the first few legs was to "gather" these fish). Road rules was a good 5 minutes up on Real world, BUT they couldn't untie the fish it was knotted, which Real World caught up.

Second Leg: They were tied, Had to dive 15ft deep to untie more plastic fish. Road Rules took the lead again.

Third Leg: They had to paddle on a long board back to the beach from the boat. Mike/Coral did this for RW and Theo/HOlly for the RR. Theo and Holly blew them away and was a good 5 minute lead again, if not more.

Fourth Leg: They had a mind puzzle to figure out with the fish. Basically had to arrange them in biggest to smallest order, and move them to another pole one by one in the same order without ever putting a bigger one on top of the smaller one. Sounds confusing, I know, but if you saw it you would know what I mean. It was just a "big logic type puzzle".
Even with RR 5 minute or so head start, they couldn't figure it out, they were yelling at each other acting as "individuals".
RW caught up finally, took a step back and Mike figured it out RIGHT AWAY.

So they just had to climb a ladder to finish.
Each Got $50,000 and Shawn and Elka for being the "team leader" (High scorer on the winning team) also got a Saturn VUE.

Patman 05-21-02 07:21 AM

I'm still drooling over Kelley...

I'm glad those pretentious *******s Chadwick and Holly got squat :D

IdgIe49 05-21-02 09:45 AM

me:

Team Score (weekly): 217
Team Ranking (weekly): 31965

Team Score (total): 2565
Team Ranking (total): 10584

BDB:

Wow, you beat me for the weekly :p

Team Score (weekly): 218
Team Ranking (weekly): 29604

Team Score (total): 2414
Team Ranking (total): 31044

Good game, BDB :) This episode had me all anxious! I was rooting for Theo the whole way. Too bad Holly had to be his partner. However, money wise, the only sucker was Holly, as everyone's already mentioned, however, other awards, everyone did well.

Theo & Holly: motorcycle and Scooter and Ski Package (Which Chadwick and Holly are selling because they need money - its on his website -www.chadwick.pelletier.com/homepage.html )

Danny & Kelly: 20K + 50K

Sean & Elka: Saturn Vue & that other Saturn + 50K

Timmy & Emily: that surfing stuff

Mike & Coral: Trip for 2 to the Blockbuster Awards + 50K

Dan & Tara: didnt they also win saturn's from winning the Ice contest??

I cant find a list of specifics, so this is going from my crappy memory :D

Coral's reaction to winning and not having to share her winning with Holly was flat out funny and ironic.

I still can't believe it was Mike that figured out the fish puzzle.

Did they say how much the rest of the winners would share with the losers?

I dont think specifically, and obviously not half. Someone said it was enough to have a good dinner and pay off a bill when they got home.

And, couldn't Stephen get a copy of the RR/RW Challenge tapes, and take the RW to court? :) They VERBALLY agreed, and SIGNED a "contract," saying they'd all get money.

Giantrobo 05-21-02 06:08 PM

Most of the Black guys they put on the Real World/Road Rules are embarrassing but STEPHEN is the worst by far.

He's a spoiled GIRL(he's gay folks...it's soo obvious) with emotional problems that need theraputic attention.

dolphinboy 05-21-02 06:55 PM

Too bad that show was on MTV (I know it was about MTV shows) because it was better than Survivor, Fear Factor, Big Brother and all the other reality/game shows. I just don't watch MTV much (ever) and would forget about it all the time.

It was also really hard for me to remember the people, which show and which season they were from, and I spent a lot of time "squeezing" my mind to try and recall where I knew them from especially when there were so many.

I caught the marathons to catch up and saw the last episode today. Even Holly, someone so easy to not like, seemed like an ok person in the end. Everyone seemed to like one another and that made it much more fun to watch. They wanted to win but they also enjoyed the experience and learned how to be a team. Even those who won wanted to share and those who lost didn't really seem too sad or bitter because they had a great time.

Whomever the guy in New Orleans that is dating Kelly is one lucky guy. She was always smiling, competed great, and was nice all the time. After the show was over that was something I really looked at as something I would love to have done/experienced unlike the other shows like it. I hope they bring us another one of these soon.

madcougar 05-21-02 09:23 PM

Now I'm just being a lazy beyach....

but does anyone know when this will be rerun on MTV?

ChefWinduAZ 05-22-02 01:25 AM

You just missed two all day marathons on Sunday and Monday, but maybe they just might rerun a marathon of the whole season again this weekend.

Oh man, taken from their website :

NOTE: All email's are filtered and will be reported to appropriate Internet servers if service is abused. This is NOT a medium to post hate mail or offensive material. Take this seriously. Thank you.

To Whom it may concern:

Hello readers, this is Chadwick. Thanks for visiting the site, I hope you've enjoyed it. I wanted to write a quick note to all the MTV viewers. I am fully aware of what many of you think of my wife and I, and you're entitled to your opinion. However, if it's negative and nasty, we don't want to hear it. I, however, want to encourage you to think about your comments before you send them. This is a medium for you to contact me about who I REALLY am, what I really do, and if you have any questions about what REALLY happened on Road Rules or BOTS, I would love to talk with you about it. But this is not a medium for slander or nasty e-mail. Trust me, I will exercise my righst as a citizen to have your account reported and removed, if you feel the need to send such e-mail.

People, the show is HIGHLY EDITED and created that way for your entertainment pleasure, despite the reputations of their cast. If we knew this ahead of time, we never would have done any show with BMP. Bottom line. In short, if they wanted me to sky dive into the ocean, jump out wearing a tux, and fall in love with Belou, they could do it. That is the genius of their editing.

Thank you for reconsidering your "hate" mail-- both Holly and I appreciate it! God bless,

Chadwick

Once again, I am glad these 2 pricks lost.

Bull... Uhhh, since you were already part of a MTV show(s) this was a lesson you (should have) learned. If not, then you are stupid. Instead, out of greed and wanting to be in the limelight Chadwick/Holy/the rest signed up for another show. No big deal, just be honest about it. The cast is to blame for being on another MTV show, not the evil manipulative MTV editors/producers.
